Celtics and Cavs are so even that any game between the 2 is a coin toss on who wins. Slight edge goes to the home court.

Without KG, the Celtics' interior defense will be very vulnerable. The Cavs have the edge come friday.

But if the C's win while undermanned, the C's will have a huge psychological edge.

In order to win we're gonna have to play a lot better defense than we have the past week or so.  We're not going to be able to score 110 points and outscore the Cavs.  We need to get stops.  Something we haven't done much of the past few games.  But I agree, getting a win against Cleveland with the way we've been playing would be a huge boost.

If we're struggling with the Nets, Pistons, Pacers when we're at home, and the CLIPPERS, and we're barely playing D anymore, Cleveland is going to smash our face into the ground. I hope we win and our guys shape up a bit, otherwise I can guarantee a PP 48 minute game.

different nights, different teams, COMPLETELY different.

this could be a BIG statement game, beating Lebron without KG.

unless boston plays better defense tomorrow the will get beat by 10 plus. we also need ray allen to hit shots...cleveland beats teams because they out hustle them..a lot of their 3's are off tips kept alive by side show bob or hustle plays...boston has to get boards and they have to keep cleveland off the glass...if i am perk i don't give Z any room to hit the outside 15 footer

My prediction for Friday's game...

It's just minutes before the game Friday night, and all the media types are going on and on about how amazing the Cavs are, how they would love just 5 minutes alone in a dark closet with Queen James, how great it'll be to see a Queen James vs. Kobe NBA Finals, and how the Celtics have no chance. "They're soooo 2008," they all say.

Thankfully, the game finally starts, and you can feel the intensity in the building. About 6 minutes in to the first quarter, the score is tied at 12. Both teams look pretty even, and you can tell it'll be a battle until the final horn, assuming the refs don't foul out the entire Celtics roster before halftime in order to please David Stern and his love interest Queen James.

Then all of a sudden, parts of the Garden slowly start getting really loud. At first it's just a few people, then a whole section, then just the sections around the tunnel, and then pretty soon the entire place is going nuts. KEVIN GARNETT just came out of the tunnel in full uniform, with a scowl on his face that would scare anyone. No one can hold him back and keep him from playing - not Danny, not Doc, not Ed Lacerte, and certainly none of the pansy Cavs. He doesn't even come to the bench, but goes straight to the scorer's table to check in. It's ON! This is the loudest the Garden has been since June.

At the next dead ball, he checks in, and on our first possession, Queen James takes it to the hole and tries to dunk, but KG puts it back in his face. The Garden is going crazy. Big Z recovers the loose ball, and puts up a weak, Euro pansy shot, and KG throws THAT back in his face. Queen James gets that loose ball, and goes right at KG again. This time, KG swats the ball out to the three-point line, where Rondo picks it up and goes the other way. Rondo and Killer Ray have an apparent 2-on-1, but suddenly a white jersey comes from out of nowhere, Rondo dishes it behind his back, and GARNETT takes off from 10 feet for a monster dunk as Varejao fouls him. Timeout Cavs, and the Garden is going NUTS.

KG goes on to play 30 minutes, puts up 22 and 12, along with 6 blocks, and leads us to a double-digit win. Just when you thought it was safe to sleep at night...we're BAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!

Memo to all Cavs fans - we're the defending champs, not you. We only hang NBA Championship banners in our rafters, not Eastern Conference Championship banners like you. The road to the title runs thru Boston.

Am I the only one who has no idea who "wild thing" is?  Did the Cavs sign Ricky Vaughn to shore up the rotation?

I hear Vaughn is writing jingles and living in Malibu now.

Hmmm.. a dumb play that hurts the team or a team member crying. I think I'll go with the player that cries and doesn't hurt the team.

lbj_216, i think they can win because, like the clippers proved, any team can win on every given night. remember it is peirce, not KG, who has to D up James and he did a pretty [dang] good job 6 outa 7 games last year in the playoffs. we get a few calls/bounces are way,it could easily come down to the wire. and if it does, we got two clutch players in Paul and ray, so yeah, i'll give the men in green a good chance to pull out a W.

im still on the fence about kg, i wont be surprised if he plays tommorrow, if he is as much of a gamer as he portrayed no way he misses friday, cavs and celtics in the east finals will come down to homecourt and with us being neck and neck record wise number one seed could come down to 1 on 1 reg season record, but then again i also think kg injury might be more serous than there telling the media

I highly doubt KG is playing tomorrow,(imagining him coming thru the tunnel and the crowed going nuts would be terrific though...) Pierce would play injured but KG's injury and the fact he's been staying home sort of cements the fact he's not coming...
