im still on the fence about kg, i wont be surprised if he plays tommorrow, if he is as much of a gamer as he portrayed no way he misses friday

Friday is the sixth day of March.

Regular season game number 63.

I'll go ahead and abstain from judging anybody's gamer-hood based on whether he plays in this particular contest.

Big Bens injury shouldn't harm the Cavs very much since most of talent lies with LeBron. If Pierce can pull himself up to LBJ's playing level for the night the Cavs will have a very tough time. Problem with this is that Pierce seems to be running on fumes and last time Pierce came up empty handed in Cleveland. Besides LBJ, Varejao seems to be their other length threat, but Powe played well against him in the season opener and was able to put up 10+ pts against him. I've watched most of the Cav (and Laker) games this year and even with Cleveland getting HCA I still think we can defeat them, their are alot of holes in their offense/defense when LBJ is limited scoring wise. Mo is the only other factor but he can be canceled as well, and the bulk of the offense won't come from Ilgauskas/Gibson/Sczerbiak/Hickson. If you respond don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to start an argument at all, but i'd rather get a Cleveland fans perspective on the matter and i'm putting my Celtics bias aside for the moment.
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

i must respectfuly disagree with you on offense when lbj goes out Scalablob990 lol
coach brown will sit lebron to start the second and 99% of are blowouts have come in the first 7 mins of the second that lbj is sitting, are bench is really something when were healthy and boobie is not trying to be the point guard he will never be
mo is the star when lebron is sitting and we think he has exceed are expectations

My prediction for Friday's game...

It's just minutes before the game Friday night, and all the media types are going on and on about how amazing the Cavs are, how they would love just 5 minutes alone in a dark closet with Queen James, how great it'll be to see a Queen James vs. Kobe NBA Finals, and how the Celtics have no chance. "They're soooo 2008," they all say.

Thankfully, the game finally starts, and you can feel the intensity in the building. About 6 minutes in to the first quarter, the score is tied at 12. Both teams look pretty even, and you can tell it'll be a battle until the final horn, assuming the refs don't foul out the entire Celtics roster before halftime in order to please David Stern and his love interest Queen James.

Then all of a sudden, parts of the Garden slowly start getting really loud. At first it's just a few people, then a whole section, then just the sections around the tunnel, and then pretty soon the entire place is going nuts. KEVIN GARNETT just came out of the tunnel in full uniform, with a scowl on his face that would scare anyone. No one can hold him back and keep him from playing - not Danny, not Doc, not Ed Lacerte, and certainly none of the pansy Cavs. He doesn't even come to the bench, but goes straight to the scorer's table to check in. It's ON! This is the loudest the Garden has been since June.

At the next dead ball, he checks in, and on our first possession, Queen James takes it to the hole and tries to dunk, but KG puts it back in his face. The Garden is going crazy. Big Z recovers the loose ball, and puts up a weak, Euro pansy shot, and KG throws THAT back in his face. Queen James gets that loose ball, and goes right at KG again. This time, KG swats the ball out to the three-point line, where Rondo picks it up and goes the other way. Rondo and Killer Ray have an apparent 2-on-1, but suddenly a white jersey comes from out of nowhere, Rondo dishes it behind his back, and GARNETT takes off from 10 feet for a monster dunk as Varejao fouls him. Timeout Cavs, and the Garden is going NUTS.

KG goes on to play 30 minutes, puts up 22 and 12, along with 6 blocks, and leads us to a double-digit win. Just when you thought it was safe to sleep at night...we're BAAAAAACCCCCCCCCCKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!

Memo to all Cavs fans - we're the defending champs, not you. We only hang NBA Championship banners in our rafters, not Eastern Conference Championship banners like you. The road to the title runs thru Boston.

then ben Wallace limps over and hits Paul pierce with a STEEL CHAIR!!!! OH MY GAWD!!!

but whats this king! is that..It is! thats toine's music!
its the walker wiggle!! and he's a house of fire on ben wallace, driven him back up the tunnel!

hehe sorry couldn't resist :D

This post has been approved for crazy awesomeness.  TP.

In reality though, I'd prefer to have KG take the full 3 weeks off rather than rush back for any regular season game, no matter how big.  I want him to come back 100%.  Then maybe we can see the team (+Steph and Mikki) of the 19 and 12 game win streaks again, instead of these "new look" Cs that seem to be hanging around the Garden these days.  Maybe.

Down 1 with .2 left on the clock, Lebron will be at the line shooting the second of 2 FTs. I will yell "BRICK" breaking his concentration, causing him to miss the shot. Perkins will grab the rebound and look very intimidating as time expires. Tony Allen will wave a towel as JR Giddens does a victory dance. Mo Williams will throw his headband in disgust as the new green victory lights shine over the Garden.

I'd expect Boston to have trouble scoring the ball tonight and considering the MASSIVE disruption to the team's normal rotations due to injuries and additions, I don't expect a victory tonight - which of course will get all the wannabe pundits making proclamations on how this loss extrapolates to the playoff match up, which is untrue.

Boston won't be at its best for another 5-6 weeks - so this game is a lot more about HCA and very little to do with how the teams actually match up.

Come playoff time, a healthy KG and an up-to-speed Marbury are going to provide major defensive issues for Cleveland as i'm positive the Celtics will go with a small lineup vs. the Cavs in cruch time during the playoffs.

Expect a Rondo/Marbury/Allen/Pierce/KG lineup to counter the 2 and 3 guard lineups Cleveland likes to use when playing Bron at the 4.

I think Boston matches up very well with Cleveland's unconventional lineups now that Marbury is in the mix and the big men for both teams are very similar as well - this series will come down to how the stars for Boston play vs. how much support LeBron gets from his supporting cast of role players - nothing earth shattering there - Boston can keep LeBron's efficiency down for a majority of any 7 game series, but at the cost of stout perimeter defense on the role players - last year they got it done, will it work this year? Time will tell...
