Well, is he an "Iverson" we KNOW what he does[/b]...there is only one ball out there. Don't forget to put Leon out there, his is the most active rebounder on the team, offensive rebounds, now if he could only keep from getting his shot blocked!!! A little more post moves, maybe work it back outside...? Scal does not rebound. I don't know, Marbury complained about not getting the ball enough back in Minnesota with KG, (a recent posting) He may be a spark though....we'll see..! Walker looks strong out there, major slasher, dunks strong, good shot....

And he's not even as good as Iverson now.

have to think the big 3 gave their blessing....everyone said the big three couldn't coexist....that PP was selfish...that Ray was too old and needed to be benched (see cavs series last year)...that rondo couldn't run point with the big three...that doc rivers couldn't manage these guys...that PJ brown was too old.....well guess what...this team continues to prove everyone wrong...i think marbury can still play at a high level...i think he will step in and do what is asked of him...and i think it will be very good.

Wait wait when did you go back to wdleehi? That is a much more important question than any that can arise from Starbury.

This^
In the summer of 2017, I predicted this team would not win a championship for the next 10 years.

3 down, 7 to go.

Just look at it this way, we now have our very own Tracy Jordan.

No really, he is an amazing athlete will be interesting to see what he has left.

this is potentially great if we get him. yeah, he's a knucklehead, but the thing is, he costs minimal, we can (and i bet will) dump him if he acts up, and before that even happens, i would think the big three might literally kill him. almost no risk, and potentially a huge reward. we need offense on the 2nd unit. marbury is a ball hog, but you know what, the man can score. his weakness (selfish b-ball) doesn't actually work against him much in the situation we need him for. and again, if he ever gets out of line, death from the big 3, and bye-bye from boston. and if he behaves...this could be awesome.

Never thought I'd be rooting for this guy but there's a good chance that I will be.   ::)

20+ years ago, the C's brought in a chronic malcontent/headcase named Dennis Johnson and that one worked out pretty well.  So there is precedence.  Only thing is DJ was a proven winner before he got here.  Marbury has never won anything.

Given the lack of other options however, I say why not?  But whether this works or not, the remainder of the season just got incredibly more interesting.

You just shot down your whole argument in your post before I could. To put Stephon Marbury in the same sentence with a former Finals MVP, NBA all-time defender and "should-be" Hall of Famer is outright laughable.

I know... scary. Marbury going at full speed for 15-20 minutes will torch those dudes.

Hard to say that Marbury was ever on a team with as many options as the Celtics. He is an excellent passer and amazing athlete. Could thrive in this environment. Not sure about Defense, conditioning and accumulated rust.

don't think for a minute the boston players dont want them....the big three were pushing him to tcut ties and get on with playing in boston....and eddie house just became a MUCH better player...

second unit:

PG Marbury/pruitt
SG eddie
C Moore/babby
SF Scal
PF powe/baby

not bad....marbury will help with bench scoring

more like...he help with stagnating the offense, dribbling into triple teams and single-handedly killing ball-movement all while trying his hardest to prove he's better than Rondo. If I'm Rondo right now I'm growing eyes in the back of my head right now.

sorry but i think you are totally wrong...boston wasn't winning a title with the bench they had...danny did what we all screamed to do...and joe smith prolly isnt going anywhere...so who else do you sign? byron russell? horry?

I'm with Buckner on this one. Danny did the same thing last year with Cassell and it very nearly cost the title, until Doc finally came to his senses and put House back in the rotation late in the playoffs.
As for what to do?- better to do nothing than disrupt what is working beautifully right now.
Will Marbury be satisfied to play 12 minutes/game? Will Doc bench him if he makes things worse instead of better?
I've been watching the C's for a lot of years, and it's a joy to watch this current team. Messing with it could very well be a disaster. Too much "irrational exuberance" here for this move.
