I agree with the OP but if Perk gets fined and suspended,i expect Bynum should have gotten the same.It was reported Gerald Wallace just got out of the LA hospital yesterday w/partial collasped lung.

He followed through in trying to block him. It was carelessly aimed but he wasn't trying to hit his head like that intentionately. He just followed through

Maxiel has the right to be upset as he was and perk was kicked off the game properly. The league shouldn't suspend him if they can conclude he wasn't trying to hurt him intentionally

this quote is from perk in todays globe:

Quote
"I tried to foul him by hitting his arms, but he stuck his neck down," Perkins said. "It was not like I wanted to hit him that hard. I never try to hurt anybody. I wanted to give him a hard foul and I closed my eyes, so I don't know how I hit him. He pushed me in the back. I'll face the consequences but I wasn't trying to hurt anyone."

if maxiell was the one doing that to perk people here would be singing a different tune. perk is one of my fave celts, even more than rondo.. but what he did was uncalled for

what maxiell did after doesnt make what perk did right.

its not a hard foul.. its a cheap wrestling move.. headlock takedown..

if say rip do that to rondo what would you say?

Um, did you not watch the game? the pistons were pushing and shoving the entire game trying to be phsycical with us and beat us up..rip is a scumbag who is constantly scratching and shoving people
they deserve it...perk does not deserve to be suspended, anyone who thinks he does is the only one im dissapointed in..seriously he got what he deserved which is ejected, why in gods name should he be suspended when bynum wasnt? . Maxiell tried to initiate a brawl after a hard foul, shoving and even punching rondo, and some of you are defending him? ridicoulous. If perk swings or pushes back and a brawl ensues, we could be talking alot more...you people are drama queens

u talk a lot but you have not rebutted any of my points. you call people names but you dont look at both sides of the ball.

name calling aside i still stand by what i say.. people here would be livid if it was the other way around.

if you want to have that kind of argument with me im sorry but im not into that kind

Not calling anyone names...and it has happened to a celtic player, dont act like it hasnt...thuigziell punched rondo for crying out loud...rondo is a constant target for cheap/dirty fouls...it is what it is

for the guy who was dissapointed in what perk did after the play, um why cause he stood there, didnt want anyhting to do with a brawl which maxiell was trying initiate, and left the game when asked? you dont make sense to me, he literally did nothing after the foul to be dissapointed in, and couldve easily given you a reason, he took his ejection like a man, didnt argue or say a word and left

Sorry for Perk, but I know he won't get as lucky as Bynum did. I don' t know what the league is seeing with Bynums's elbow thrown at Wallace, but it was definitely dirty. He could have stopped him by extending his out more so it wouldn't have been an elbow sticking out to run into. I think Bynum gets away with it b/c he acted innocent, and apologetic. Perk gets pushed from behind and walks off with a jack*** smile. And yes, If Perk gets suspended then Max's actions should be reviewed as well.
Can't stop, Rondo!

Baby-Face Bynum?

The diff is that Perk mans up and says what he did. Perk doesnt try to deny what he knows millions saw on camera.

Bynum is a crybaby when it comes to taking responsibility. He likes to play the victim.

Just totally different people and personalities.

Am I missing something, Perk walked off with a smile?  SINCE WHEN DOES PERK SMILE? ugh...He walked off like a man with the same facial expressionb he always has, admitted what he did, didnt argue about being ejected and left

This reminds me of the article Wide Load has up on the front page.  The better the team does, the less there is to talk about.  So I guess we have to start making stuff up.

I don't have much of a problem with what Perk did.  Definitely not enough of a problem to go and create a thread about it.  It was a hard foul.  It should've been a flagrant one, but Perk never gets the benefit of the doubt.  But I'll take what he did over some of the other stuff last night.  I know KG got the player of the game honors, but he gave up way too many easy baskets.  And right after Perk got ejected, Maxiell got an uncontested layup.  Maxiell isn't a good free throw shooter.  Put him on the line and make him earn it.  That's what Perk did.  He was just a little too rough about it.  But Maxiell was the one that lost his head, because we ended up getting a free throw from Ray Allen, and they got it from Maxiell.  I'll take that exchange.

IMO Perk is "old school" tough as opposed to "new school" tough....

He's more of a Cowens tough who just gets really intense in the game than a Kenyon Martin tough that is just always looking for trouble...

I don't want to see anybody get hurt out there, but i don't see a real problem with a hard foul to let a guy know that you're there....especially when he thinks he's got your number the way Max was worming around under there...

I believe Perks explanation. he just wanted to give the guy a hard foul and he got his head up under his arm. he basically had his eyes closed and didn't exactly know what happened other than he came down heavy on him...

that said, if he gets a suspension for a game, i wouldn't have a problem with that either.

consider it message sent. and nobody got hurt. take the medicine and move on.

i didn't see the post-game. does anybody know what Tommy said. my guess is that is what whould have been done in his day when a guy was getting a few too many rebounds under there...
