Sorry apparently trying to throw a guy on to the ground face first as he is attempting a shot is equal to shoving a guy. I really don't know how you can compare the two. I would love to see your reactions if the situation was reversed.

Um, yeah, the game was in play and Perkins committed a hard foul, play stopped and Maxiell tried to initiate a fight, shoving and punching
the guy is fine, get over it

I'm fine with the play but I just wish you would acknowledge that your reaction would be totally different if Maxiell hit Perk with that kind of foul. I am sure Perk would just walk over to the bench without any reaction.  ::)

It is still hitting. And a better word could be a punch. Why is it ok to go throw punches esp at players who were not involved? I am not saying what Perk did was OK I am just saying Maxiell punched Rondo and that makes him no better.

I'd also like to point out that KG got suspended earlier for what I deem as less then what either Perk or Maxiell did.

I am sure Perk will be the only one suspended. Would like to see some consistensy from the NBA on this. Won't happen though I bet.  ::)

Perk is gonna get suspended and he deserves it.  He caught Maxiell in a semi-headlock behind the neck in his first fouling motion, then made a separate motion to throw him down face-first into the paint.  That's deliberate and it's dangerous as hell.  He's still my boy but he took it too far this time.

And Maxiell did punch Rondo, I'm curious to see if the league catches that or not.

So, are you going to admit you dont like Perk now? we dont know what perks reaction would be if it happened to him, so thats irrelevant.. If perk gets suspended the leagues a joke..bynum just broke a dudes rib and collapsed his lung for an equally dangerous play and didnt get suspended, and if he did Id accept the same verdict for Perk...Maxiell is fine, his reaction  was just as bad as the foul. After the foul Perk didnt do anything to make the situation worse, be thankful he easily could have

Who knows what will happen? The NBA seems to make things up as they go along. The rules are bendable whether in an incident or in everyday reffing which is what is the most annoying thing about the NBA.

If my memory is correct I remember McHale close lining Rambis and changing the complexion of the series after that, thus leading to a championship.  Seriously people has the world become this soft?  I'm not encouraging everyone to go out there and beat everybody up and act like mr. tough guy, but this is how Perk has played since day 1 he set foot in the league.  He's an enforcer and I like that.  He doesn't take crap from anyone, much like this team.

As for the guy saying look at Perkins face after the foul, umm last time I checked Perkins always has the same angry look on his face.  I haven't seen the man smile but 2 times in his whole career.

Plus JM did hit Rondo, and that should be worthy of a suspension if Perk gets hit with one as well.  You people are overreacting, Bynum's hit was much worse and actually injured a player.  JM got back up and wanted to start a fight with Perk, who just stared him down.  Its done and over with Perk isn't going to change how he plays.  Plus this is the first time in a few years he's done something like this, as someone stated before me.

Yeah the inconsistency is maddening but I think they are consistent in giving Celtics the shaft when they can. I'm very curious to see what happens.
Tommy: He's got a line about me. Tell him the line.

Mike: Everybody 60 or over knows Tommy as a player. Everybody 40 or over knows Tommy as a coach. Everybody 20 or over knows Tommy as a broadcaster. And everybody 10 or under thinks he's Shrek.

I agree, if it involves the Celtics they are pretty consistent on making sure the Celtics pay. It is still unbelivable to me KG was suspended earlier. Players have not gotten suspended for incidents worse then that.   ::)

Trust me, Perk doesn't usually do things like this but it was dangerous. Look at how close Maxiell came to landing on his head, he got his hands out at the last minute.

Im tired of these little cry baby posters on here who feel sorry for guys who are making millions of dollars when they get hit, tackled, clotheslined etc. It is BASKETBALL! If you dont like being hit, play TENNIS or VOLLEYBALL! The human element will always rear its head in basketball games between rivals & we should not be suprised by what we may see. Rondo takes nasty spills every night from other opponents that we turn our cheek towards because we have become accustomed to him getting up. Yet night in & night out we never return those borderline fouls to the oppossing teams players. I myself get mad at K.G. & Perk sometimes for not defending Rajon on a more consistent basis & a play like Perk made tonight tells teams that there is a toughness in our game. That these Boston Celtics will do whatever it takes to win & will not back down from any challenge its up against. And the reason we lose to teams is because they sometimes let the other teams play at a crazy physical level & decide not to match that same intensity on some nights. Like in Cleveland when Lebron played at a level which Paul & K.G. didnt match. He talked, chirped & manhandled us all night, and when the Hawks play at that level they also give us fits. So I like what im seeing from my Big man because nothing is worse than a soft azz center! Quit crying, because this is the NBA where anything happens!

Settle down, Beavis.

No one is calling for softer play (at least I don't think they are). You are talking about not backing down from anyone, but who was there for Perk to back down from?  He cheap shotted the dude. That's just Perk acting like a punk Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline..  Should Perk's follow up act be to just walk over to some unsuspecting player and knee him in the balls? This is Bill Laimbeer crap.

You can play hard and physical without being a thug.  Tonight, Perk was a thug and it pains me to say that as much as I love the guy.

Oh, by the way, this play was not only thuggish, but completely stupid.  Let's see, it will cost him Sunday's game against Big Al and served what positive purpose?

Very low IQ move.
