  • You ain't the boss of the freakin' bedclothes.
I didn't really LIKE Helen there, but at least there is some continuity between the humans they were and the cylons they discovered they were. As in their character flaws were intrinsic, not affected.

It also reminded me a bit of the old Hercules series (Sorbo), where the gods were so blatantly imperfect. The original 5 cyclons are a lot like gods.

Thank gods this show is finally ending.  My friend put it best... it's like a sick old dog that just needs to be put down already.  If anyone ever wondered if the producers/writers just made it up on the fly... that question was answered this year in a big way.  Absolutely.  They  just made this crap up as they went along.

What was appealing about this show initially were the characters, the stories, the humanity ... and the fact that for the most part it wasn't just a cliche sci-fi show.  It appealed to everyone.  It had solid film-quality action, characters you could relate to and an epic high-paced energy to every episode.  Everything that was cool about it went to crap.  It's now a bunch of talky garbage that is too full of it's own moronic backwards loopy mythology and I really couldn't give a [dang] if every single character died in the finale.  Good riddance to bad rubbish.   Stop wasting an hour of my week, BSG.

Here is my friend's take on the show:
"[12:41] RPS: it was sad to see the show fall apart like that, its like a completely different show from the first couple of seasons
[12:42] RPS: it turned into a social rant, a drama and a internal conflict between the humans and cylons, the first few season were an epic war, the battle of all battles. Now its just P**** drama s***
[12:43] RPS: religion, idealogy, politics. all garbage to me"

Did the budget melt away or something?  Sure religion, ideology and politics have a place in entertainment, I guess... but not when it's wrapped around some confusing story about some robohumans going to some planet, having war... then going to another planet, having a civil war... having them create life organically, but then have the ability to resurrect themselves using machines... then having 5 of those robohumans traveling two thousand years after another planet blew up... to create more life... who destroyed 13 more planets... and then washed the brains of the original 5 "creators"... blah blah blaaaaaaaahh... I REALLY DON'T CARE!! YOUR SCI-FI PSYCHOBABBLE POINTLESS NONSENSE ANGERS ME!!!!

In my opinion, the show officially "Jumped the Shark" when the producers picked 4 characters at random to be the "final 4 cylons"... after they all started hearing a Bob Dylan song.   Retarded.

The drunken scenes with Adama and Saul are painful to watch. Utter garbage. It is hard to have any sympathy for them. I can accept the idea that such character defects go hand in hand with being good military leaders, but the scenes just drag on and on.

I look forward to some resolution, but the series has had a lot of rough spots.

at the very least the final episode should have a lot of action.  But does anyone really give a [dang] about Hera?  Big deal... and even if they wipe out Quantum Leap Cylon #1... isn't there thousands more scattered across the galaxy?  Sorry... the show just got really dumb.

yeah, it's a real shame. it was simply awesome when it started. it got all full of itself. who cares about hera? EXACTLY. it has been hinted at for awhile that she was important but it's like it was kin of abandoned and all of a sudden it's all about her again and she's barely spoke a word. it's obvious the writers didn't communicate enough with eachother. such a shame. they had something really great on their hands.

I really don't care about action. I want resolution of the story line. Tie up all the loose ends, and less drawn out over-acted scenes.

What a silly last hour. The first hour of the episode was good, but the whole idea of spreading out on earth without defenses is silly. Those tribes they saw walking around aren't going to like others around.

Too much mystical crap too.

The very end was nonsense too. The idea that hunter and gatherers are any more noble than city dwellers is simply wrong.

best show ever! i think a lot of you missed the point, its was always about what defines humanity from beginning to end. this was a good night of TV. i got a good Celts win and a good end to a good show. Boo-yah; yeah i'm bringing it back.

I agree with you, I loved the last episode and the whole show was just great.

I discovered BSG this summer so I didn't follow it since 2003 but still I'm sad the show has ended. I'm just disappointed by the missing revelations (Starbuck disappearing like David Copperfield? what the hell?!), and I think that it'd have been better to end up the show with the scene of Adama near Roslin's tumb or on Gaius discussing with Caprica and the Head people. The NY scene (with Moore as a "guest", um...) was interesting but I would have preferred the previous scenes as an ending.

The discovery of Earth with African tribes is a really good twist, and the first part of the episode, with the finale battle is just amazing, it passed so quickly! It was brillantly done. Cavil's end, the Opera House visions coming true (even if it was far different from the original visions), the Chief killing Tory (take that bi***! ;D), Gaius and Caprica discovering at the same time that the other was also seeing a Head people , Gaius doing his speech and finally acting like a man, the truce between Cylons and Humans which longs about 5 minutes before Tyrol blows it out, Starbuck leading the Galactica to Earth... such great moments!

The characters' new life on Earth is also very interesting. I'm glad that the writers did find a good ending for each character. The scenes with Roslin and Adama are really sad but beautiful, I'm not a fan of love stories but this one was perfectly done throughout the whole serie and its ending is powerful. Adama's final "retirement" is great, such as Tyrol's, Tigh's, Baltar's or Lee's.

In my opinion, Gaius Baltar is definitely the best character of BSG and I loved his role in the final episode while he wasn't very present in the 4th season. Sure the missing revelations are bothering me but as I've said it already, what really matters is the characters and they deserved such a beautiful ending. I'm sad there won't be no more episodes of this show (Caprica doesn't count) but I'll keep enjoying rewatching it again and again! :)

they're gonna make the same mistakes all over again. i think the head characters were closer to demons, angels to lucifer(who was a character in the original. the heads were wearing red and black, not that clinches it or anything. i like to think they are demons cuz i view god or gods(whatever higher power there is)in our real world as a deadbeat.

Well, I tivoed the last episode and watched it.  I didn't like the supernatural elements, e.g. the "disappearing" Starbuck.  I thought that bringing the storyline to present day earth was clever, but predictable. It was also unrealistic to exect a technologically advanced group of people to relegate themselves to a lower position on the food chain.

But while I didn't love the ending, the acting and character development remained consistently excellent.  Olmos and McDonnell were first rate (as usual)and Katie Sackoff is a fine actress from whom I expect more going forward.
