Ray Allen

Milestone: 20,000 - 1,773 away, hate to suggest it, but an injury that gives him more scoring load could give him a shot at 20k this season.

Two things that have been swirling in my head the last few days.  I'm not sure what's making me feel this way, but:

1) I think Ray's going to lead the C's in scoring this year2) (unrelated to the topic but since I mentioned the first, I should mention the 2nd) Leon Powe is going to lead the bench in scoring.

I tend to think the same way, his shooting form has just been amazing through the finals and into the preseason. Could be a very solid year for Ray!

I agree, but even if completely healthy I doubt Ray averages the 21.6 points per game he'll need to to hit 20,000.  I love Ray, though, and would love to see him retire a Celtic.

Hey, can we add Pierce passing McHale and Parish for all-time Celtics scoring to the sticky?  Seems noteworthy.

Kevin Garnett

Rebounds - 11,203
Milestone: 12,000 - 344 away, 69 games

Outstanding post, and Tommy Points galore.  This was the only part I had a question about, as the math doesn't look right on those rebounds.  344 away?

Interesting... there was a lot of copying and pasting involved wherever I could so I might've forgotten to change some numbers.  Ah ha... yeah, that was pasted over from Pierce's "350 away" on his rebound milestone.... didn't even catch it when I updated it with last night's numbers.  Thanks!

I don't know how I missed this thread when it first came out but what an excellent original post, Big Ticket. I mean truly spectacular. I saw where Pierce was placed on the all-time Celtics scoring list last night and thought that it was going to be amazing that by year's end he would be third on the list behind Hondo and Bird.

For those wondering this is where Paul Pierce should rank in all-time team stats in various categories by year's end:

Games: 10th - currently 10th with 733.
                         - Next up: Sam Jones 871

Minutes: 5th-7th - currently 8th with 27528.
                              - Next up: Bob Cousy 30,131
                                                Kevin McHale 30,118
                                                Dave Cowens 28,551
Points: 3rd - currently currently 5th with 16972.
                      - Next up: Robert Parish 18,245
                                       Kevin McHale 17,335

Field Goals Attempted: 5th - currently 8th 12598.
                                                 - Next up: Robert Parish 13,558

                                                                   JoJo White 12,782

Field Goals Made: 7th - currently 10th with 5566.
                                         - Next up: Bill Russell 5,687

Thanks as well. You know, I knew these three guys had some awesome stats to back their Hall of Fame credentials up by you putting them up and showing, especially in the case of KG and Pierce, where they stood in relation to others and their final stats really opened my eyes.

Accomplishments that end with a comment like "only done by three other players in the history of the league" or something like that reveals an awful lot about a player. Then you add that they were all instrumental in at least one championship(and counting as far as I am concerned) and it pretty much ends the discussion on the HOF worthiness of any of the three.

Someone made mention earlier that tonight would be KG's 1000th career game.

That's a biggy in its own right.

It will tie him with Glen Rice (one of my favorites) for 85th All Time

Thanks to Redz for the reminder, and more importantly...

Congratulations Kevin Garnett, for becoming the youngest player ever to reach 1,000 career regular season games
