The poll should be who should get cut. I voted Scal just because of his play, and I hate how everyone treats him special like the kid getting lapped in a race who people awkwardly cheer for. It will probably be one of the rookies, Miles or Sam because everyone on the team last year proved their value. Pruitt looks like he can play and that could make House into a shooting specialist instead of forcing him to be a pg.

Why do people think you can't cut Scal for financial reasons?  I actually understand the reasoning but if you look at the numbers it's really not that much for an NBA team.  $3 million per year for this year and next?  If they cut him they'd be paying him to not play, right?  If he stays on the team is he really going to play much?  He's the 4th string PF behind KG, Powe and BBD, with Miles playing the 4 for small ball.  So they'd still basically be paying him $6 mil not to play if they keep him anyway.

Besides the option (which was a good point) that he could be added to a trade for salary purposes I just don't see any reason to keep him.

I'd like to see a separate poll asking who should be cut, not who do you think will be cut.  I would think most people agree Scal is the worst player or least valuable player on the team.  Even if Giddens is worse than him now, at least he's young and can improve.  Scal is going downhill on a hill that wasn't big to begin with.

because a 3 million dollar expiring contract is a valuable asset. you dont just cut them, its foolish.

thats why some, like me are hoping for a trade packaging scal and a prospect (baby in my case) for a player or a pick.
5 or 10 million a year might be valuable or too much to cut.  But 3 million?  That's almost chump change in the NBA.  You hear things like "Theo Ratliff's expiring contract" or "Raef LaFrentz's expiring contract" because they're over 10 mil.  I can't remember anyone mentioning an expiring contract for anything less than 5 million or so.

Plus, it's not an expiring contract, which is what other teams want.  It has another year on it.  Not so valuable.  If it was valuable other teams would want it right now.

Can Scal be traded for a 2nd round pick, for the year 2050?

scal... i was okay with him before, but 2 games and he hasn't made one shot. can't make a 3, can't make a layup. if he can't do anything productive on offense and there's nothing he can do on defense... CUT.

Become Legendary.

Barring anything unforeseen, it seems pretty certain, even as early as 2 games in the preseason, that Miles will be getting cut.

Two pre-season games out weighs the stretch he started last year for KG and the Celtics kept winning.

Or, he thinks he actually might be cut. Therefore, he tries to play harder.

This team has only 2 SF/PF types, Scal and Miles. I don't see how you keep Scal and let Miles go. Ownership can eat Scal's salary without a problem. They made some good profits last year, and they'll keep making them for the foreseeable future.

Scal is useless to us.

Scalabrine will get traded somewhere, otherwise the Celts will just cut him and eat his contract. He finally got a chance to play 20+ minutes, and he blows it by missing all his shots and doing what I call nothing on defense. I would take ANY player over this guy.

The other players have potential to make our team better...
Giddens is youth. He can grow with Ray Allen into a better shooter
Pruitt will be the Cassell replacement next year, and this is his last year playing small minutes.
Miles will be our active backup SF and fast PF when we play small-ball.
And Sam I Am is our dependable locker room coach, soon to be asst coach, and backup PG in the playoffs.
Can't stop, Rondo!

Sadly scal is safe unless they package him in a trade with say pruitt or davis. Sam I am is staying on the roster since he'll be coaching next year so cutting him won't happen. I'm praying Dmiles makes the roster at  even if he's in the deep bench, because anything is better then scal and his embarrasing missed layups and ET like drive to the baskets
True Celtic = Leon Powe

Bring back the show!!!!

scored some tickets to the game last night at the last minute.
a few observations:
1.although scal tried to give the game away the celtics were too much for the cleveland cavs and scal to bring down.
2.Scal is the worst basketball player i've ever seen. I could beat him 1 on 1.
3. bill walker is a beast...but only when it comes to dunks, boards and free throws!
4.pruitt has surprising hops.
5.Eddie house has been working on his handle, alot!!
6.O'bryant has a body like tayshaun prince, and underneath the basket he can make things happen!
7.Giddens makes 1 play every game that makes me say "[dang]!!"
8.Tony allen has been working on his inside shooting and he will be a solid player this season.. finally!!!
