I defended Scal in the past and he did play decent in starter minutes when KG was out last year and we kept on winning however if we are just basing this off the first 2 games then he has to go.

People are saying Scal's contract is important the following year as he will be in the last year of his contract.  If that contract is so important just sign someone next offseason to a 1 year deal that is similar to Scal's contract which is reasonable within the MLE.   Then that is issue is solved.

I'd like to a few games where you sit the big 3 altogether and give starter minutes to the fringe guys Scal, Miles, and possibly Pruitt to get better feel.  I'm really hoping they keep Pruitt though.

A sidenote it's nice to see BBD hit a couple jumpers but he needs to pick up his overall game.

I hear the Long Beach Breakers
have an open roster spot for Scal.

If I could vote 50 or 100 times
I'd give him all my votes!

Unless there is a trade, this is the situation:

1. Scalabrine won't be cut
2. Giddens and Walker are rookies chosen in the draft by Ainge and we still haven't seen enough with these 3 games. There is no way Danny cuts them
3 It's a battle between Pruitt and Miles, which sucks cause i want both to make the team. Doc already said that whoever wasn't going to make the team COULD play...both Darius and Gabe can play basketball, but only one can make the team

I just WISH that we could make a trade to solve this situation. Otherwise I'd just love to waive Scalabrine, the least talented man on the whole roster. He is just a big body who plays decent team defense, that's all.

How about Cassell will be cut? This is the most likely right now.

I voted Darius Miles, but I sincerely hope it's Scal. He is utterly useless, he does not do one thing well. Apart from make people giggle at a post-championship press conference.

Well after the rockets game I really think Pruitt has stepped up.  He's probably still a bubble guy but I think Sam is not needed AT ALL.  Miles shows some nice things and we'd only really need him for 15 minutes a game, he also must be on the edge.
If it was just on who is going to help the least; sam (sorry buddy) then scal cut.
Pruitt shows too much speed, defensive pressure and we know he has an outside shot, probably 4th best on team.  Can sam help us defensively as the 3rd guard?

since miles is the only one without a guaranteed contract, i'm guessing it'll be him. but like tommy said, that's if they decide to go with a full 15 man roster. what if they cut 2 people at the same time and go with 14 for flexibility?

If everyone else is guaranteed, then keeping 15 does not hurt your roster or financial flexibility because you can cut that player anytime, it is whether you eat their money now or later.  In fact, cutting a guy now hurts your roster flexibility some because you have one less contract to match in a trade to make the money balance if you need it.

Unless Miles shows something more pretty soon, he will make this an easy decision

I voted for Pruitt, but now I see how foolish it was to vote at the beginning of the preseason.  ::)

Now, I'm hoping that they waive Sam and make him an assistant coach.

They can't cut Pruitt.  This had has too much potential to get rid of.  If they cut him in favor of Cassell for one year, it be an extremely dumb move.  They need to keep as much youth on the team as possible for the future.  He's only played one year, they need to give the kid a chance.
do it

I continue to hope it's Cassell but, does it count on the 15 if they send Giddens to the D-League until the All Star break and then use Scal's contract in a trade deadline deal?

I still think miles has a good chance of making the team, he's not what he was a few years back, but I'm pretty sure Doc and Danny knew that when they picked him up. He hasn't played very poorly at all the last few games except the 2nd game, and POB and TA weren't setting off that much fireworks either last night, but still made a good impression. To me at least it seems with each game Miles is progressively getting better and better since he seems to be getting used to this team, and how it works, he still has a good shot with the team. If this guys knee can last at least one more year without blowing out again he'sgonna be a complete steal, and with him and walker as backup SF I won't have a worry in the world.

I think that it needs to be Sam or Miles. I really don't see much from Miles for an entire season. He is the most likely to finish out the season on IR. He's cheap to cut as well. With Walker looking like he is a player I don't think he really adds much. On the other hand if you cut Sam you can always re-sign him if Pruitt doesn't continue to improve. Scal is just the whipping boy on this site, but you can never have too many bigs who can go out there and look reasonably competent.

That's mostly because he hasn't played at all. Which is indicative of something.
