Katt Williams is one of the best comedians right now. Who else is on this list?

[edit: Sorry Jsaad, that's a lot of profanity. Funny but a little too much for the forums

Best in their prime right now? Hands down Eddie Izzard. John Pinnette is up there. I want to see Daniel Tosch do one more hilarious album before he's one of the "best". Also, I'm going to get torched for this but, Ellen Degenneres (sp) stand up is pretty freakin funny.

I think Katt Williams is the funniest right now too.

Most overrated Stand Up? Robin Williams.

How are people gonna get on WWE wrestlers for Steroid use, but not test Robin williams for gratuitous use of stimulants?

Katt is hilarious. ;D

I'd say Dave Chappelle.

And Janeane Garofalo is a great female comedian.

And Robin Williams can be funny, his impersonations are, but he's over the top at times.

I'd never even heard of Katt Williams, so thanks for mentioning him, Jsaad -- and good topic, too  :)

The recently departed George Carlin is my hands-down all-time favorite, and I'm all the more glad I had the chance to see him last November - though I do think a lot of his older stuff was better than what he did live.

As for the still-living comedians...

Not a fan of Robin Williams, IP?  I think he's as good as anyone out there - thinks so fast (stimulants or otherwise), he really makes you work to stay with him.  And Chris Rock is still right up there.

Always looking for new comic interests, so I'm looking forward to the other responses here.  TP for starting, J.

Also...for most criminally overrated...Dane Cook by light years.

I'm really stunned that such a large percentage of this country seems to find that guy hilarious.  He just doesn't do it for me.

I agree with you on that man. I've seen his full stand-up (I forgot the name of it), when it aired on Comedy Central. There were a full laughs but it wasn't as hysterical as the crowd made it seem to be.

Doug Stanhope is really funny but too vulgar to post here. He makes fun of Dane Cook pretty well. Says he's not a comic. I agree.

I'd throw Dave Chappelle, Robin Williams and Eddie Murphy (Raw, Delirious) into the mix. As well as Lee Evans.

Stand up comedy isn't nearly as fun if your watching it on TV.

I got to see Jim Gaffigan and he was really funny, most of his jokes involved bacon, being lazy, and drinking...
He stays away from racism and politics.. you know the boring topics.
