Richard Pryor is over rated.  You have to be able to do someone's bits word for word when your hanging out with your friends.  When was the last time your buddy started doing richard pryor bits.

I know he broke barriers but that doesn't mean he's the #1 comedian of all time.

Dane Cook was an **** in that tourgasm reality show and I can see why people might not like him but it doesn't make him less funny.

I've liked Chappelle, Rock, and Leary.  All funny guys, for various reasons.

YOu want to know why I hate Dane Cook?  Four little words.

"There's only ONE ocTOber!"

Sure, but there are 7000 commercials.  Toolbag.

Well, he doesn't do standup (as far as I know), but I think Larry David is hilarious on Curb Your Enthusiasm.

I'll get flamed for this, but I also like Sarah Silverman.  Her Jesus is Magic show was great.  Her TV show is mediocre though.

My favorite in no particular order:
Dave Chappelle
Chris Rock
Daniel Tosh (his most recent standup on comedy central is absolutely hilarious)
Lewis Black
Mitch Hedberg
Dane Cook (I know it's not popular to like him anymore but his first few comedy albums sold as well as any other comedian in history)
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

Just saw Chris Rock last weekend at Mohegan. He is still hilarious. His delivery is unreal.

I also love Chappelle, Carlin, Louis CK, still like Dane, Swardson (he is hilarious to me in movies and his cd was hilarious...Blackout Morning is awesome), Zach Galif...

Eddie Griffin - Can't believe he hasn't been mentioned. His last special is one of the best shows I've seen this decade.

Dave Chapelle - My personal favorite.

Daniel Tosh - Favorite young comedian.

Stephen Lynch - He hasn't been mentioned and has made some funny songs.

The reason Dane Cook is easily disliked is because his whole personality is transparent. The guy's a great performer, but it's easy to see how forced his performance is (see Tourgasm). He invented a persona, which made people laugh, but doesn't seemed to have a personality. He seems so awkward trying to be cool that it takes away from his appeal.

Larry David was a standup comedian:

Quote
Lawrence Gene David born July 2, 1947 is an American Emmy-winning actor, writer, comedian, producer and film director. Formerly a stand up comedian, David went into television comedy, writing and starring in ABC's Fridays, as well as writing briefly for Saturday Night Live. David is one of the most respected and successful comedians of his time. He was voted by other comedians as the 23rd greatest comedian of all time in the British Channel 4 The Comedians' Comedian poll.

I haven't seen his standup, but I love the show!

Best current comedian(s)... I'll stick with HBO - Flight of the Conchords!

Daniel Tosh - Favorite young comedian.

Yes definitely one of my favorite younger actors, this guy always cracks me up.

One of my favorite skits of his is something like:

"So I was in the movie theater trying to watch this flick, and these people behind me kept talking and throwing popcorn and I got so upset and started to go off on them.  But then I looked down at my WWJD(What would Jesus do) bracelet and thought what WOULD Jesus do?  So I lit him on fire and send him to Hell."
