See I was thinking about drafting fast athletic players so that we could run and get layups. I guess shooters are ideal for the half court set though.

A lot of his points do but that might have to do with what's around him. Currently on the Suns who do they have that is real fast (for his position) and can finish a break. I count three (Amare, Barbosa and Diaw sometimes), I think if he had more athletic runners to work with he would have more alley ooop assists. I think I will try to get some players that are athletic and some that can shoot.

yeah, that was my concern. i think oj could adopt that mentality, he's not needed as a go-to-guy with bosh and durant so therefore his main job description is to distribute.

- A backup PG as experienced in playoff games as Derek Fisher has New Jersey rightfully is 1st place. Will they maintain the top stop despite not having a pick in the 6th round?

2 (1). Houston Rockets - Tony Parker, Gerald Wallace, Kevin Martin, Andrew Bogut, Lamar Odom, Shaquille O'Neal

3 (4). Portland Trailblazers - Amare Stoudamire, Andre Iguodala, Rudy Gay, Al Horford, T.J. Ford, Udonis Haslem

- Haslem gives this young inexperienced team some depth, size and championship experience.

4(5). New York Knicks - Kevin Garnett, Rashard Lewis, Andre Miller, Eric Dampier, James Posey

- This is quite a change for the Knicks who actually have quality players to go with an enormous (fantasy) payroll. James Posey brings some clutch shooting, tough nose defense and championship experience.

5. Minnesota Timberwolves - Lebron James, Jose Calderon, Andris Biedrins, Ronnie Brewer, Amir Johnson

- The addition of Amir Johnson gave "King James" a young PF who has been around an organization that wins.


Future:

1 (1) Portland Trailblazers - Amare Stoudamire, Andre Iguodala, Rudy Gay, Al Horford, T.J. Ford, Udonis Haslem

- Haslem added experience to the roster. Are the Blazers trying to win in both categories? That will entail a lot of delicate balance of youth and veteran players. So far so good…

2 (5) Las Vegas Lakers - Chris Kaman, Emeka Okafor, Kevin Durant, OJ Mayo, Rashard McCants, Darko Milicic

- Things seemed hopeless for this franchise after an ugly start to “CB-08” draft that resulted in losing out on Lebron James. In the aftermath of “Pick-Gate” Management changed hands and the new front office moved the team from a utopian Iran, to the bright lights of Las Vegas, Nevada. Good trades, solid draft picks and the Lakers are #2.

3 (2). Boston Celtics - Greg Oden, Devin Harris, Leandro Barbosa, Luis Scola, Danillo Gallinari, Andrea Bargnani, Kyle Korver

- You won’t find too many teams in a zone against this young squad.

4. Indiana Pacers - Derek Rose, Monta Ellis, Rasheed Wallace, Samuel Dalembert

- Back-court of the future?

5. Minnesota Timberwolves - Lebron James, Jose Calderon, Andris Biedrins, Ronnie Brewer, Amir Johnson

- I like this roster that has a 10 -12 year shelf life of winning games and making the playoffs. Drafting Amir Johnson also helps you do that.

I would rearrange the young teams. 

1) Minn
2) Boston
3) Laker
4) Spurs
5) Portland


The key, the 1st four teams have their guy to build around.  Portland is loaded with young stars, but none jump out as a top 5 guy in the future.

Amare doesn't strike you as a top five guy? 

He was 5th in the NBA in points per game last year, fifth in FG%, sixth in blocks, and tops in true shooting percentage.

Amare is the top offensive big man in the NBA by a wide margin, and he's 25 years old.  I'd gladly build around him.

I think his defense is that bad.  He plays in an offense that impacts his offense.  Very good player.  All-star.



But he is not the championship guy you build around.  He is the 2nd banana.  You have a team loaded with them.  Get the right coach, and they could win a title like the last Detroit Pistons.  Team based, not superstar based.

My team might not be the youngest out there, but they are certainly not old. We have some good size, especially with the frontline. Everybody is entering their primes and my team can still contend for at least 5 years. It is impossible to score on the inside with Kaman and Okafor manning the middle. Terry is not really a pass-first PG, but Turkoglu is running the offense. Terry can spot up while Richardson can drive and complete some flashy dunks. Turkoglu is the key to my team. He will run the offense and create for himself as well as others. He is in my opinon one of the top point-forwards in the league.

Plus with 5 picks in the next two rounds, we can round out our bench very easily.

Interesting take.  If defense is the test, I'm not sure that Durant or Indiana's duo has shown much, either (nor has Lebron), and Boston has a ton of guys who have never proven a thing at the NBA level.

I'm trying to be objective here, but from my take, Portland and Las Vegas are easily the class of the "future" field, with Minnesota being right there if Biedrins and Amir continue to develop.

Pistons are too low in these ranking imo and the Knicks are too high. Posey isn't a 2.
