It is just to funny.

I have been watching Mike and Mike all morning.  Very little on the game.

A lot on golf.

a lot on soccar.

Replay of an interview with the astronauts.

I guess they don't want to keep telling potential final viewers that the lakers are done.

First Take is giving it the top story treatment.

The U.S. Open is a huge story, especially when Tiger and Phil are playing together.  It is also being covered on ESPN.

Every website also has it as the lead story, I'm not too upset with it.  Mike and Mike is a radio show with only two guys, to some point they can even talk about whatever they want.  Even some people on WEEI will call in today and want to talk and Mike Lowell's grand slam last night, that's part of being on radio, you have to talk about what the callers want.
"Take this down," said O'Neal. "My name is Shaquille O'Neal and Paul Pierce is the (expletive) truth. Quote me on that and don't take nothing out. I knew he could play, but I didn't know he could play like this. Paul Pierce is the truth."

There may be something to this.  I was a little surprised at the announcers last night too.

It sure didn't feel like they were announcing the biggest comeback in NBA Finals history, did it?

Would it kill them to get a little bit excited about that game?  I mean, things were so bad I shut the TV off for most of the 2nd quarter.  And to play as perfectly in the 2nd half as they played poorly in the first.  Great coaching, really good adjustments, lock-down defense, great bench play, hero moments from Pierce and Allen.

I obviously biased, but this is great stuff!  Were the announcers unable to get up for it because they spent the first half talking about how great the Lakers were?  Are they disappointed now a the prospect of only getting 5 paychecks in the Finals?  Are only Celtics fans excited about this?  Are we crazy?

Sure didn't; I didn't detect a whole lot of excitement in Breen's voice last night....
Also, post game:  Stuart Scott: Wilbon and Barry, give me one word to describe the game.  Wilbon and Barry: "choke" (both said the same thing more or less).  i.e.: the big story was how disappointing the Lakers played!

(for the record, I would have chosen "epic")

But in general I think the story is getting a good amount of press.  I don't want to be too greedy this morning  ;D
Celtics fan for life.

I guess the guys just dont like it when the C's are on fire. But Golic picked the C's, I think, in 6.

I think this game should get maybe the most coverage because its a rivalry and plus it is a just build team with a chance to win it all something that never happened...Ohh well at least we have THE Tanguays to report the green bonanzas. Go Csssssssssssssssss

One thing I hope that will have some coverage is Paul Pierce wanting to cover Kobe.  There are two things, a) PP stepping it up when it mattered (again).  I hope now that people outside Boston consider him a top 10 player (or a top tier player) b) Doc making the adjustments and having an open mind with PP covering Kobe.  He deserves a lot of credit.

..and for now on Kobe should never be compared to MJ.

You know what I thought Ray Allen did a great job on Kobe last night in the first half.  Kobe really didn't do anything but pass the ball.  When Kobe wanted to take the shot Ray Allen was right on hi shooting hand.  I mean a lot is going to be made out of Paul wanted to cover Kobe and I think a lot had to deal with Paul not having any fouls on him so he could cover Kobe with a little more pressure.  But I'm not making too much out of it because Ray Allen was doing a great job before Paul was.

I think they have actually been talking about it quite a bit, it's a huge story today, maybe I've just been tuning in at all the right times, but I am seeing it everywhere.

Is it just me, but it seems that everything that is coming out in the media is related to the "Lakers choke", not the "Celtics comeback".  I am not saying it is only that way, but from all I have heard from last night to this morning (Stu Scott, Dan Patrick, Steve Saban, etc.) is how Kobe choked, not how Pierce and Allen and Garnett stepped up, o and thats not to mention Pose and E. House.  I do not understand why their is such a media bias towards the Lakers, it seriously is frustrating me beyond belief.

Another part that is irritating me is when did the Zen Master become the greatest coach of all time?!?!?!?!  This is something that is just insane...couple of reasons why Red is the greatest and will always be...1)he changed the game was played with basically creating the sixth man with Hondo and Losci.  2)He didn't lose in the Finals (the C's have only lost 3 of their finals appearance, and twice that was in the 80s, so the most Red could have lost was one.  Phil looks to be losing his 2nd as we speak.  3)Red built his teams, Phil took over teams with the pieces already in place.

Finally, and this goes back to the broadcasting of the games, why have we seen during the pre game Game 1: Magic, Game 2: Magic, Game 3: The Logo, Game 4: James Worthy????  Magic gave the most unbiased view of the two teams, but is this payback for having Tommy doing the CBS broadcasts in the 80s or what?  We need Tommy Heinsohn at the pregame table handing out Tommy Points, gushing Celtic green all over the place, to make up for this travesty that has been abc's production of the 2008 NBA Finals.

Last night's second half announcing and postgame comments all seemed to focus around the Lakers choking and giving it away and very little to do with the stifliing C's defense, heart, and effort.

And this frustrates me because when the Lakers comeback fell short in Boston the focus again seemed to be on what an outstanding job the Lakers did getting back into it and not on the Celtics giving up. Although the attention the Lakers got that night was not to the point of last night's focus being on the Lakers.
