It will be interesting to see how Giannis plays with Davion Mitchell. Davion did a good job for MIA last season but he was a low volume 3pt shooter. Not a comfortable 3pt shooter. If Giannis does his usual over-dribbling and forces Davion into a spot up shooter, Davion could have a much worse season next year.

I see absolutely no realistic targets out there for center or combo guard.

Trying to start Hauser and Queta in the playoffs is a disaster.

And having to watch Brown play for this team going forward is so unenjoyable.
I'm still hoping some foolish team reads too much into JBs 6th place MVP finish and gives us a haul.

But I'm not optimistic.

Shams said the Bucks wanted

Brown
Hugo
Baylor
Other young players from Boston
Multiple more first round picks than what Boston offered.
multiple pick swaps

So yeah...that was never going to happen. Not mad at Brad for saying no thanks. not even sure the Celtics were all that serious contenders after that. Seems they were really only leverage.

But am concerned where they go from here.

If thats true it seems like Milwaukee viewed Herro and Brown as more or less interchangeable parts.

I'm glad it is over. The Heat did a massive overpay.

They did.  And if they do not dump a medium-sized salary (Portis, Jovic, or Mitchell) they will have to let Norm Powell walk in free agency.  I would have no problem giving him the MLE.  He should get more, but there are so few teams with cap space he might miss out.

So much for Kalshi saying had a 73% chance of landing Giannis.

So that 27% chance that Miami prevailed like it was nothing

Finding myself disappointed over this news, especially given that Miami acquired both Giannis and Portis.
If we could have worked a deal to get those two, it would have transformed our team.
Having said that, the Celts were probably wise not to give away as much as Miami did.

There is a report that the Celtics might still be looking to trade Brown.
Roy mentioned that the Celts handled this negotiation as well as they could in regard to the possible negative impact on Jaylen Brown's attitude going forward if he ended up staying in Boston. Maybe he will be ok, but he has always felt unappreciated even before any of this news became public. I just cannot picture him taking this in stride and starting next season feeling positive about being a Celtic.
The Four Celtic Generals:
Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett - Tatum

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce - Brown

Welp, this is disappointing.

But the Miami offer was better for the Bucks, I?ll concede. I honestly thought the Heat overpaid. Herro is whatever but getting 2 cost controlled decent young players + 4 picks (3+swap right?) is pretty amazing. We got 3 picks including swaps for Pierce and KG and everyone talked about what a steal that was.
