Eh, Riley can choke on it.
I won't be watching this upcoming season. And honestly the league already lost me after the Luka theft. I don't need much of an excuse to look to other forms of entertainment these days.

Bucks owner Jimmy Haslam was a driving force in taking the Heat deal for Giannis over Boston, per Kevin O'Connor.

Quote
Haslam did not want to risk Jaylen Brown wanting out of Milwaukee in a year after dealing with Giannis and Myles Garrett (he also owns the Cleveland Browns) trade demands.

Should call up Cleveland about Mobley. Doubt they'd do it, but a Brown for Mobley swap makes some sense for both sides.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

EDIT: Nevermind - back on the Fire Joe Train!

Jorge Sierra: FWIW: Giannis Antetokounmpo is the first multi-time MVP winner traded away since Moses Malone.

I love trivia like this.

?
White
Brown
Tatum
?

Bench: PP. Hauser, Queta, Baylor, Hugo, Walsh, Harper, Garza, Williams, first round pick

That is the roster for next season. No idea who they can even bring in but it will be more of the 60 3s a game offense.

From what I have read, Cleveland has already decided to run it back next season. I doubt they would make anyone available.

I think Brown needs to be traded before the season starts, this saga will affect him. For those who believe everything will be fine with Brown, needs to remember those seasons with Irving & Hayward. Even if the players say the right things does not mean it will not affect their performance.

The Celtics aggressively pursued Giannis, offering Milwaukee a package featuring 2024 Finals MVP Jaylen Brown and two first-round picks, sources tell ESPN. The Bucks seriously negotiated with two finalists in recent weeks: Miami and Boston, which were both on Antetokounmpo?s list of preferred destinations.

Is JB into Cajun?? Or what?s the odds we could snag Jalen Johnson to send JB back home - <1%?

Yeah, no Jalen Johnson.  I think Okungwu, McCollum, #8 and some matching salary would be doable.  And turning around #8, that matching salary, and maybe #27 or a 2027 1st into Trey Murphy would be a fine pivot.

There are alternatives to Giannis.

That would be a terrible return for JB. Might as well trade Tatum at that point. The move would make Atlanta better than Boston.  :P

Not an Okungwu fan?  He could be either a starting 4 or 5 on this team, and capably play next to Queta.  You might be correct that it is great for Atlanta and they should give up something else, but that #8 pick is quite valuable and how you get Murphy from New Orleans.

Yossi Gozlan‬: The Bucks go from having one of the most dire draft pick situations to a slight surplus of first-round picks, mostly in the 2030s. The 2030 swap with the Heat could potentially offset the swap they already owe to the Trail Blazers. They could really use more second-round picks.

I don't think it would make sense for us.

I'd rather have Jaylen.

I see absolutely no realistic targets out there for center or combo guard.

Trying to start Hauser and Queta in the playoffs is a disaster.

And having to watch Brown play for this team going forward is so unenjoyable.

Yossi Gozlan‬: The Bucks clear $20 million in the current two-team Giannis Antetokounmpo trade framework.

They'd create a massive $25.5 million trade exception, which could grow if they expand the trade. It would be useful for taking on bad salaries with draft picks to add to their surplus.

Chris Haynes: Sources: The 3 teams Giannis Antetokounmpo was open to signing an extension with: Miami, Boston and Minnesota. The Heat land a foundational piece and now have the attention of top players searching for a new home.

I didn't know Giannis had agreed to sign an extension with Minnesota.

Keith Smith: The Heat will bring Bobby Portis in via the Duncan Robinson TPE they have. Miami will be hard-capped at the first apron after completing this deal, which will be in July after the league year changes over.

I am not clear on the hard capped stuff in the new CBA. So MIA cannot add any extra salary beyond the first apron?

I wonder how much wiggle room they have below the first apron. They still need to improve that bench.

Correct, because they are using a TPE from a prior season to complete this deal, they are a first-apron team.

My quick math has them about $15 million under the first apron with only 10 players signed.  They are going to have to move some real salary if they want to keep Norm Powell.
