The Celtics aggressively pursued Giannis, offering Milwaukee a package featuring 2024 Finals MVP Jaylen Brown and two first-round picks, sources tell ESPN. The Bucks seriously negotiated with two finalists in recent weeks: Miami and Boston, which were both on Antetokounmpo?s list of preferred destinations.

Is JB into Cajun?? Or what?s the odds we could snag Jalen Johnson to send JB back home - <1%?
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

EDIT: Nevermind - back on the Fire Joe Train!

I mean Miami fleeced Mil here. It?s unbelievable they got Portis too in this deal.

I don't know. Giannis' injury issues could doom MIA. This deal might be their death knell.

Overpay. Glad that did not happen.

Two firsts? Too much.

Jaylen was too good to give up for Giannis in the 1st place.

I'm assuming Brad had a backup plan. How will he pivot to help improve this team?

Back up plan is running it back as is. Drafting 27th and trying to add some more scrap heap role players.

Window is closed. Going to be another first or second round exit. JB dribbling the ball off his foot 4 times a game. Can?t wait.  :P

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Brad did a good acting job at his presser but in the end nothing changes. It will be Brown chucking shots, turning it over, volume 3s, p--- poor front court and another first round exit....but hey we still have Hugo...who couldn't hit water if he fell out of a boat.

Welp, time for another second round exit again to lower-seeded team again.

As for Giannis and Miami, they can kick rocks. Pat Riley get to get the last laugh on this over Boston. Hate it.

The trade does not include any additional teams -- it is a one-to-one move, sources said -- but both the Heat and Bucks will execute the deal on July 6, which leaves the framework open to see if there are opportunities to expand.

Last June, the Phoenix Suns and Houston Rockets agreed to a deal that ultimately increased to a historic seven-team trade.

I think the Heat are now in the East conversation. I understand they?re not in the big boy chair or anywhere close to it, but they do have a seat at the table. As you already outlined, they didn?t give up that much depth all things considered and they have quite a front court rotation.

They now a top 3 team in the East with New York and Indiana.

Unfortunately, Boston is not there yet until we get another Jrue Holiday type player.

Kasparas Jakucionis was Miami's version of Boston's Hugo Gonzalez hang-up. Had been hearing all day the Heat did not want to part with the Illinois product on top of their Herro-Ware-Jacquez-No. 13 structure.

That's an All-Star guard, three recent first-round picks still on rookie deals, a second lottery pick in tomorrow's loaded draft class, plus two more future firsts and a swap... It's really a sizable haul for Giannis Antetokounmpo. Compared to Jaylen Brown and two first-round picks.

Said that way it is T Herro a borderline All-Star guard and six 1st round picks (3 recent 1st rounders, 3 future first rounders).

Ware & Jaquez both successful 1st rounders. Too early to tell with Jakucionis but he does look promising.

I do not see Boston getting out of the first round with this mid roster. Having to start Hauser and Queta is just foolish.

I can?t imagine the Hawks would do that, even for their hometown guy. JJ isn?t even 25 until next December

So your Brad Stevens and you?re making the phone call to Jaylen Brown right now. What do you even say?

I am not even sure Brad really wanted to make this deal with that sorry offer. His main objective was to drive up the price for Miami. Brown and 2 low numbers 1s?
