Haslam did not want to risk Jaylen Brown wanting out of Milwaukee in a year after dealing with Giannis and Myles Garrett (he also owns the Cleveland Browns) trade demands.
Jorge Sierra: FWIW: Giannis Antetokounmpo is the first multi-time MVP winner traded away since Moses Malone.
Should call up Cleveland about Mobley. Doubt they'd do it, but a Brown for Mobley swap makes some sense for both sides.

Or what?s the odds we could snag Jalen Johnson to send JB back home - <1%?Yeah, no Jalen Johnson. I think Okungwu, McCollum, #8 and some matching salary would be doable. And turning around #8, that matching salary, and maybe #27 or a 2027 1st into Trey Murphy would be a fine pivot. There are alternatives to Giannis. That would be a terrible return for JB. Might as well trade Tatum at that point. The move would make Atlanta better than Boston.

Yossi Gozlan: The Bucks go from having one of the most dire draft pick situations to a slight surplus of first-round picks, mostly in the 2030s. The 2030 swap with the Heat could potentially offset the swap they already owe to the Trail Blazers. They could really use more second-round picks.
Yossi Gozlan: The Bucks clear $20 million in the current two-team Giannis Antetokounmpo trade framework. They'd create a massive $25.5 million trade exception, which could grow if they expand the trade. It would be useful for taking on bad salaries with draft picks to add to their surplus.
Chris Haynes: Sources: The 3 teams Giannis Antetokounmpo was open to signing an extension with: Miami, Boston and Minnesota. The Heat land a foundational piece and now have the attention of top players searching for a new home.
QuoteKeith Smith: The Heat will bring Bobby Portis in via the Duncan Robinson TPE they have. Miami will be hard-capped at the first apron after completing this deal, which will be in July after the league year changes over.I am not clear on the hard capped stuff in the new CBA. So MIA cannot add any extra salary beyond the first apron? I wonder how much wiggle room they have below the first apron. They still need to improve that bench.
