Wow.  The Knicks just signed pretty much every recognizable NBA veteran free agent left, and all agreed to training camp deals.

They are maximizing championship window instead of extending their playoff participation window. Wish some teams respected the difference.

The Knicks are lucky Brunson agreed to take a large discount. He is making $37M this year. When your best player is making significantly less than they are worth, it is a lot easier to fill out a roster.

Despite Brunson's salary, the Knicks are still outspending the Celts.  And, every player mentioned will be count less against the cap than Ron Harper, Jr. this season.  Similarly, as much as I root for Walsh, I'm not sure that paying him twice the minimum for minimum-level production will be in our best interest next season.

Not sure what you are saying.  Of course it gives NYK a big advantage to have Brunson on a $37M contract, there is no denying that.  But to question whether signing Harper and Walsh over waiting and going after vet min guys like NKY did, that is an entirely different thing.  That is not a question of how much they are willing to spend, but rather just on how you spend.  Of course that is important.  Teams can't afford to waste any contracts these days.  You need to make every contract count.  If Harper and Walsh end up being wasted contracts/roster spots, that will hurt the team.
