Its worth noting that saying "The Celtics offered 2 first round picks" could mean #27 this year and a 2027 first (which would have been late twenties). I think Miami firsts in 2031 and 2033 when Giannis will be 36-38 are obviously far more valuable.

Mission now is go to Jaylen and say "hey, we had to try for a top 20 all timer but we chose you ultimately. Here's a 2/140 extension.

Again..if the offer was Brown, two very low picks and nothing else...that is a pretty half hearted offer by Brad.

As for Brown. He will get over it. He will sign the extension, make 70 million a year on it and finish his career in Boston.

The consolation prize for missing out on Giannis is to give JB 70 mil a year. Devastating.

It will be interesting to see what the Bucks do from here. They'll get to add #10 and #13 to the team but still have Herro and Turner who might be able to return them additional assets. If they could do that before the draft they might be able to begin establishing a young core this year. They will also have a 25 million dollar TPE they could use to take on bad contracts for additional compensation.

Basically how much will they tear it down? All the way to the studs?

Honestly I think being lost in all this was the Celtics were a 56-win team without Tatum for the first 60 games of the year and with D-White shoot 33% from three.

Assuming they can smooth things over with JB they could just sign a player with the MLE an make their pick at #27 and be very good next year with some improvement from the young guys.

I agree in a way. We are still the favorites to come out of the East and I do not think the Knicks are some juggernaut of a team. With that being said I got my hopes up over Giannis as I think that would have made us favorites in the whole league. Still think we have a chance although I am worried about having to ship out Brown in a trade that will make us worse in the short term.

and lost in the first round after losing in the 2nd round rhe year before.  More of the same without major changes is all anyone can expect.

I really do not care about the regular season. They failed the last 2 seasons in the playoffs big time. Their best player last season returned to his poor playoff form. Coaching continues to be abysmal.

Running it back with this roster (which looks more and more likely) means more of the same. Good regular season. Top 3 or 4 seed in the playoffs and then a total collapse in the playoffs.

It would be nice to see guys improve but we are talking about Joe. He can't develop anyone.

Tatum played very well in the playoffs. Fat and away the best player on the team. Shot efficiently, excellent rebounding, excellent assist to turnover ratio, didn't commit fouls, etc.  Tatum was not the problem against the Sixers.

Brown needs to go at this point.  His time in Boston needs to be up.  New Orleans, Atlanta, Houston, Portland, and a few other teams have shown interest. Get it done Brad.

I wasn't talking about Tatum. I was talking about Brown coming off a career year and floundering in the playoffs once again when he was the lead dog.

I am so tired of watching Brown push off and then complain, drive into the lane head down into 3 defenders and then have to take some sort of low percentage fade away. And then the turnovers and the blackhole offense.

I would like to see him traded but I do not think it happens.

Unfortunately now all that?s left are downgrades. The one chance at upgrading has passed.

maybe maybe not.  Sure a singular player better than Brown isnt out there, but I've long felt lesser talented but better fitting pieces would be an upgrade to the team.

Don't see Brown getting traded because there is simply nothing out there to get for him in return. It is one of the reasons they could not find a 3rd team.

Better off keeping him. Who cares if his feelings are hurt. You play in the NBA for hundreds of millions of dollars. Get over it. It is a business.

My guess is Hauser is the one that gets moved but not sure there is any market for him.
