Its worth noting that saying "The Celtics offered 2 first round picks" could mean #27 this year and a 2027 first (which would have been late twenties). I think Miami firsts in 2031 and 2033 when Giannis will be 36-38 are obviously far more valuable.

Mission now is go to Jaylen and say "hey, we had to try for a top 20 all timer but we chose you ultimately. Here's a 2/140 extension.

Again..if the offer was Brown, two very low picks and nothing else...that is a pretty half hearted offer by Brad.

As for Brown. He will get over it. He will sign the extension, make 70 million a year on it and finish his career in Boston.

The consolation prize for missing out on Giannis is to give JB 70 mil a year. Devastating.

It will be interesting to see what the Bucks do from here. They'll get to add #10 and #13 to the team but still have Herro and Turner who might be able to return them additional assets. If they could do that before the draft they might be able to begin establishing a young core this year. They will also have a 25 million dollar TPE they could use to take on bad contracts for additional compensation.

Basically how much will they tear it down? All the way to the studs?

Honestly I think being lost in all this was the Celtics were a 56-win team without Tatum for the first 60 games of the year and with D-White shoot 33% from three.

Assuming they can smooth things over with JB they could just sign a player with the MLE an make their pick at #27 and be very good next year with some improvement from the young guys.

I agree in a way. We are still the favorites to come out of the East and I do not think the Knicks are some juggernaut of a team. With that being said I got my hopes up over Giannis as I think that would have made us favorites in the whole league. Still think we have a chance although I am worried about having to ship out Brown in a trade that will make us worse in the short term.
