I just do not think they take the Celtics offer. Brown stays put. Brad has to fix the relationship.

They draft at 27 and try to add a center and combo guard somehow.

That's some clever reverse-jinx mojo you've got going on there!

I'm pretty sure he's still going to be saying that we aren't trading Brown even if Giannis is holding up the championship trophy in a Celtics jersey next year. Celticinorlando has been extremely consistent in thinking the Celtics are going to do nothing this offseason

In a sense, Orlando is already wrong. I think the smoke is pretty clearly there indicating Brad is at least competing for a blockbuster trade. If it doesn?t happen I don?t think it will be for lack of effort. Bucks get to decide and none of us would want Brad to overpay.

I don't mind overpaying to some degree, if Brad thinks Giannis elevates our ability to contend.

In a sense, if you are the team winning the Giannis sweepstakes, that means you were willing to pay the most, so one can always argue you overpaid.  And accordingly, I agree that if the Celtics get Giannis there is probably a price that is okay, even if it is more than other teams chose to offer.  The concern, of course, is whether it does get in the way of other things (as, for example, the idea of taking back Kuzma in addition certainly would), or if it is so far better than another team the Celtics could have left out a piece and still had the best offer.

Just don't include Hugo in the trade...his future should be with the Celtics.

I like Hugo, and I'd much rather trade BS, but I wouldn't let him be a deal breaker.

If Hugo does manage to develop a jump-shot, he will be an All-Star.

My point on not trading Brown is that Brad would specifically for Giannis.

If that does fall through, then I am not sure Brad trades him at all. I do not want to give him away for picks and young players (ala what Portland would offer).

I still think the majority of this roster remains the same and they add a center and hopefully a combo guard through FA.

Just don't think Brad pivots to a plan B trade for Brown. Can't give him away just because feelings are hurt.

If this deal goes through for Giannis, I will gladly give the board a round of TPs.

who's 1) Brad's with JB cause by this trade speculation or 2) JB with the other issues going on behind the scene....  I don't see #2 being fixed, although as I said after the season ended, he'll give it a shot if he cant get a trade done to his satisfaction

Do you think JB is gone regardless of whether the Celtics land Giannis?

By *overpay* I mean give away too much such that risk is overwhelming reward.  I agree with regard to Hugo. Yes it shouldn?t stop a worthy trade but count me among those who?d hate to lose him. A 19 yo who looks immediately like he belongs is someone to try to keep.

So assuming the Celtcis make the trade and it is roughly Brown, some draft picks, and maybe a young wing for Giannis, what do you do to fill out the rest of the roster?

With OKC dumping Wiggins, I think they bring Hartenstein back and are probably less interested in moving Caruso so those options into the trade exception aren't as likely.  What else is out there?

Or if Giannis ends up in Miami, I can't see Brown wanting to come back, so what type of trade is out there that makes sense for Boston.  Trying to think outside the box some and not the usual suspects, I think Charlotte would be interesting.  Miller, Bridges, Mann for Brown.  That works on the trade machine. I'm not really all that interested in Bridges, but he has to be there for salary.  I think Miller could be really good and Mann is fine as a backup.  Charlotte adds JB to Lamelo and Kon and would be really interesting.  Boston would have PP, White, Miller, Tatum, Queta or could go with a bigger lineup and swap out PP for Bridges (or maybe Boston flips Bridges somewhere else).
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

If the Celtics land Giannis I hope they get Portis with him. I would also like to bring back Porzingis as a stretch 5.

Starters: Pritchard, White, Tatum, Giannis, Porzingis
Bench: Scheierman, Harper Jr,  Walsh, Portis, Queta, Garza, Vet FA

I don?t think Charlotte would give up Miller. He is really young/talented and has averaged 20ppg every year. Was the #2 pick in the Wemby draft. Feel like the Hornets just need to keep developing their players.
