Here's a question based on this page of comments. Is Giannis okay becoming the #2 here? Or if the other way, is Tatum okay becoming the #2? There's multiple reasons it didn't work between Giannis-Lillard, but one of them was neither seemed to be willing to take a back seat or work it out/sacrifice. Giannis would be the #1 in Miami over Bam, no question. On this team, I think he'd have to be willing to accept being the #2, or 1B behind Tatum like Jaylen was all these years.

I think Giannis would be OK with that role. He already won in Milwaukee being the #1. Seems like he just wants to win again. Tatum will make his job so much easier.

I don't think Giannis knows how to play any other way than to be a #1. He will take over the team naturally. His natural aggressiveness. The guy is a 30ppg 10rpg machine.

Feel like he will be Ok sharing the load with Tatum. 1A/1B.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Perkins is right on this one. Clip is cut short, but he thinks Giannis needs to go to Boston. That pairing him with Tatum in Boston is like KG and Pierce all over again. Does not think a Giannis/Bam duo would be good enough to win a championship.

The year the Bucks won, Giannis had 18 fga, Khris had 15.8, Jrue had 13.9 in the regular season. In the playoffs, Giannis had 20.9, Kris had 19.7, and Jrue had 16.9.

During Boston's title season, Tatum had 19 3, Brown had 17.9, and KP had 13.2. In the playoffs Tatim had 19 6, Brown 17.8, and white had 12.7.

Giannis was only 16.6 last year, though the year before he was 19.7.  The 19.3 Tatum had was the lowest he had in a healthy season since his 4th year.

I thibk they will be fine, it will be PP and White that will see a reduction if anyone does.

Now that he?s no longer a member of the Bucks, the soon-to-be Naismith Basketball Hall-of-Famer opened up about what a potential trade may look like for the Celtics if they were to acquire Antetokounmpo.

You?re getting a rejuvenated, healthy Giannis, Rivers said during a recent appearance on The Bill Simmons Podcast.

I also think this would be his first time in four years not having having Europe basketball. Giannis and I had a conversation, I want to say a month before the season ended. You remember the who should you come back [conversation]

I was honest. I said Giannis, here?s my opinion. You shouldn?t come back. The season is over. You need to sit, but you should look at this as a great opportunity. You can start working out now. You can bring in your guy that you work with and you can start now for next year. There?s no European basketball. You can get a whole year to work on your skill and he started doing it.

Re-signing with the Bucks remains a possibility. However, if the Celtics were able to pull off a trade, it could make them dangerous in the East. Good luck trying to guard Tatum and Antetkounmpo at the same time, Rivers said.

He?s just so motivated. He wants to win another title, Rivers said. Giannis wants to win. It?s interesting, we were just talking about it. He doesn?t talk a lot about his play, he talks about winning.

The Giannis Antetokounmpo trade saga could drag out past free agency and into July, per

Yeah no thanks. I'm not doing another version of waiting for AJ Brown for extended weeks/months now.

The only advantage I can think of for ragging out the Giannis trade is you TECHNICALLY get access to a team's 2033 draft picks. For example the Heat could trade #13 this year, 2029, 2031, 2033 at or after the draft. They'd have to get CHA to remove the #1-14 protection on the 2027 first they owe them, but if they did that they could then offer MIL a VERY pick heavy package of those 4 firsts plus three swaps.

This screams of the Bucks not getting the offers they thought they would get. But that's what happens when the guy you are trading has only one year left on his deal and a good argument for why they should have traded him sooner. The value drop from a "guy with two years on his contract" to "expiring" is massive.

Also please just resolve this. I'm okay trading Brown for Giannis, I'm okay keeping Brown and building out the team around the Jays. I just want to know which it is.

IF Brown gets moved it will be for Giannis. I do not think JB will be moved for anyone else.

I still do not believe for one second Brad trades him.

Unless it's to New Orleans for Zion, Trey Murphy III in package...that would have us thinking hard about it and reluctantly pull the trigger.

I'm not ok with the status quo of being bounced early in the playoffs by inferior teams every year, so it definitely is what this title of the thread is: time for a change.

Brown for Giannis please become a reality!!

Whoa. Who will give him a max deal?

Washington were expected to give him a max or near max deal. So he should safely get a long term deal in the same price range.

I wonder who else might make a run at him though.

* Chicago -- add Trae to Giddey, Buzelis, Caleb Wilson.
* Brooklyn -- I doubt it.
* Memphis -- sign and trade for Ja Morant?

Does anyone else have cap space or an interest in Trae?

I'd epect its going to be something like a three-year deal at less that the max. Maybe 3/125?

He may benefit from the success that Brunson had, proving a little guy can lead a team to a title.  But I predict that the team that gives him a max deal will have buyer's remorse very soon after.  These new tax and apron penalties make it killer to a team if you overpay for a player like that.
