Do the Warriors have enough future draft picks to make a run at Giannis? Using Jimmy's contract as a makeweight.
Butler is now a negative contract. The Bucks won't be able to retrade him by the end of it.
I did think about Kuminga as the core of the trade package. The Warriors own all their own 1sts, and the could trade Moody and Podz.
Salaries get tricky though. The only realistic way it could work is if Green is also in the trade, and probably rerouted to a third team.
Plus, I can't imagine Giannis sees that as the opportunity for the last phase of his prime. Steph is not who he once was, Butler is recovering from ACL, and that roster would be depleted.
However, I did think about this idea:
Warriors get Derrick White, Coffee
Celtics get Giannis, Thanasis, Anthony
Bucks get Kuminga, Podz, Simons, Hauser, and Hield, 1 first from Warriors, 2 1sts from Celtics
Warriors - Realistically with their cap situation, White is the best player they will be able to get, especially with Kuminga' value right now. They get him for one last push with their core next year.
Bucks get two solid prospects, a 20 ppg guard, vets that can fill their rotation or traded for draft assets, and 3 1st rounders for Giannis.
Celtics get Giannis. We have the best big 3 in the league.
