Jordan Hicks salary dumped to the White Sox.

In addition to savings some $, I think the real benefit of this trade is that it clears two spots on their 40-man roster.  Anyways, I didn't see Hicks playing this season.

We also traded our #11 prospect.

The Devers trade is the gift that keeps on giving.

I agree...although we did receive a pitching prospect and a player to be named later.  Again, I think this was more about opening spots on the 40-man roster.

Eugenio Saurez only got 1 year, $15 million.  I would have been happy paying him that.

The Devers trade gave the Sox two things, a stable clubhouse as he was becoming a cancer for not being a team player and more importantly, Kyle Harrison.  He was the big return chip in that trade as he was the #23 prospect in MLB and the #1 prospect for the Giants in 2024.

I'm definitely in the minority here, but this is the fielding/batting lineup I'd go with to start:

C:  Narvaez
1B:  Contreras
2B:  Campbell
SS:  Story
3B:  Mayer
LF:  Anthony
CF:  Rafaela
RF:  Abreu
DH:  Duran

We've been waiting for these young prospects, it's time!

I need more time looking at their pitchers, but for sure, they upgraded the starters!

I've got no problem with the starters, although I don't think we'll ever see anything that even approaches "good" pitching from Harrison.  I'm not sure that we can win without having any ++ power in the lineup at all.

This is essentially the same lineup we ended with.  Contreras replaced the stats of Bregman.  https://www.sports-reference.com/stathead/tiny/Dnqq5

We need a healthy full year of Mayer, Anthony and for Campbell to have it figured out.

I don't think last year's offense is sustainable without HR power in the lineup.

The Sox won 8 out of 10 when they traded him. Devers was playing well at that time. Can we stop with this narrative that he was a holding the team back, since he wasn?t. John Henry really knows how to spin things to the fan base.  :P
