RKK on the extensions:

Well, we always try, Kraft said when asked about possible extensions for Gonzalez and eventually Maye. We have a salary cap, so we have a limit. So, we have to think [about] what?s best for the team in terms of timing, of the signing and of course, the earlier you do it, it?s believed it?s more economically satisfactory.

But we leave that to Mike Vrabel, Elliot Wolf, and our people making contract decisions. We?re lucky to have those two players, and I hope and believe they?ll be with us for the long term.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

He should be saying an immediate yes to both Gonzalez and Maye

I honestly thinks it?s 50/50 on whether they extend or trade Gonzalez.

Big mistake for trading the best CB in the game today. And the Pats have arguably the most lethal secondary in the NFL this offseason, at least on paper.

Pats paid Stephon Gilmore back a while ago, and that worked out for them.  More injury history with Gonzalez though.  Have to look at what the Jets got for Sauce Gardener.  The Jets got 2 firsts and Adonai Mitchell.  That is a lot.

I hope they sign him, and expect they will sign him.  But a trade with that kind of return is not necessarily a bad deal either.

Patriots would be absolutely nuts to trade Christian Gonzalez.

The team has an option to bring Gonzalez back at $18.1 million for the 2027 season. Coach Mike Vrabel (told reporters that the team intends to use it.
Yes, Vrabel said. If we haven?t picked it up, we should pick it up.

We want to make sure that we draft extremely well, and then we identify the guys that we want to keep with us and that have earned long-term extensions with us, Vrabel said. And Christian, Gonzo is certainly one of those players, but I can?t comment on the negotiations.
