Hahaha after all the Lakers talk, they're going to get taken out in five in the first round.

Doncic isn't a world-beater defensively but Reaves is quietly much worse at that end imo.  Doncic struggles with changes of direction but Reaves can't even guard the first move.

Reaves hasn't had a good series offensively either.

1 good game. 2 middling ones. 2 bad ones.

A bad showing from Reaves. He is a better player than this.

That is game. Congrats to Minnesota. Well deserved.

I am looking forward to a Minny vs GSW 2nd round matchup. I think Minnesota may be the favourites. More well-rounded than GSW who are overly reliant on their Big Two offensively and on Draymond for any type of interior defense.

They could get a decent package for Reaves.

Bad matchup for him, I think.  Against most teams he takes advantage of the amount of attention Lebron and Doncic require.  Those guys get the other team's best defenders and he gets to tee off on the third guy which is usually a mismatch.  But Minnesota's defensive depth is quite good and he doesn't get to pick on weaker defenders like he wants.

Sayonara LAL.  For all of the talk about how the West is "stacked", though, I don't really see any of these teams offering OKC a series.

Gobert finished with 27pts and 24reb. 2 blocks.

Randle with 23pts in just 31min due to foul trouble. He was terrific in this series. Averaged around 22ppg 5rpg 5apg played strong D and scored at 60+% TS%.

Ant struggled with 5-19 FGA but that did not stop him from playing strong defense, grabbing 11 rebounds, handing out 8 assists, and getting 3 steals. He showed a strong mentality to make sure he was contributing elsewhere despite his offensive struggles.

Gobert channeling his inner Shaq/Chamberlain tonight. Crazy numbers. Nice to see Randle beating the team that betrayed him.

  • GOT IT!!!
Regardless of the matchup this was an embarrassing showing from the Lakers. They looked like a play in team in this series. The Luka narrative is changing, he won?t win anything until he gets serious about his job. He can?t give full effort because he?s out of shape or injured because of it.

I don't care who wins the 2/7 matchup at this point. As a matter of fact, the Warriors can get lost now that the Lakers are out. Hope they blow a 3-1 series lead like old times and lose to the Rockets  ;D Still hate Draymond, Curry, and Kerr

Call me crazy but MIN might have a chance to make a deep run. I would pick MIN > GSW in 7. MIN has HCA and they look locked in and more experienced from last year's run and this first round. Randle, Reid, McDaniels have stepped up and Ant is Ant. Plus Divencenzo is a nice 3-point threat and has an edge to him that fits the team. If Gobert can also play even about 70% what he did tonight, that's massive for MIN. MIN's defense is also great, didn't make it easy on anyone, even Luka's 35+ point games required a lot of effort from him and he wore down.

Yes LAL had their flaws which got exposed but I also am impressed by how Minny played this series. MIN shot 7-47 from 3 today too on the road with LAL facing elimination and still won.

Don't think it'll happen but imagine if the Lakers get officially eliminated tonight

I am in heaven! Feels 10x better knowing the Lakers are eliminated

Lebron gonna be a year older and they still have a lot of depth issues including center (I don't see how they can add another "AD" or someone similar). They have Doncic long term but unless he improves on defense it might not matter much, or they could trade for another huge star but can they do so with Lebron still here? I doubt it due to tax restrictions. Only after Lebron retires.

Reaves got exposed too. "Best #3 option in the NBA", lol not even close. I'm telling you, he's not a bad player but I do think he's kind of like Caruso/Kuzma, guys who are overhyped and get the better whistle in LAL but on another team would basically disappear or not be as good.
