Mikal Bridges gave NY a major lift last night. His quickness in transition. Some aggressive (albeit ugly looking) drives. Attacked the basket.

Good performance from him. Reminded me a bit of Corey Brewer in the NCAA Finals in 2007. Out-quicking and out-athleticing everyone. Getting his team easy hoops. Causing problems with his length and quickness on D.

Some cool defensive stats on Draymond Green against Sengun in Game 4.

Sengun vs Draymond = 6pts 3-12 FGA

Sengun vs all others = 25pts 9-16 FGA

Draymond made a huge difference in that game. The Warriors interior defense was abysmal whenever he was off the floor. Open paint for Sengun and other Houston players to attack. Whenver Draymond would come in, he'd seal it back up.

This has got to be one of the dumbest sports takes I have ever heard.  Talk about prisoner of the moment.

Lol - Reddick saying the Lakers need to get into "championship shape."

1. Mavs front office is laughing.
2. Laker arrogance really is something. You lost in the first round of the playoffs. How about getting into WCF shape?

This is a great read on Redick.  The same stuff he used to spew on First Take is coming back to haunt him.

I was looking Jalen Brunson's numbers in this series.

He was averaging 31.5ppg and 8.2apg. However, he only shot 43.6% FG 33.3% 3PT for a TS% of 54.7%.

This is a repeat of what we saw last season with his scoring efficiency dropping hugely from the regular season. Last season, teams were able to load up on him due to a limited offensive supporting cast as his team was hit by injuries. This year, however, Brunson has KAT and Mikal Bridges alongside him plus the return and improvement offensively of OG Anunoby. He has offensive help now. Yet still, his scoring efficiency has dropped way off.

Brunson was a 60% TS% guy in the regular season. As he has been for the last 5 years on average. However, in the post season, his TS% was 53.6% last season and 54.7% this season.

The Knicks as a team shot 55% TS%. So Brunson is roughly average relative to his teammates. The Pistons shot 56.2% TS% so Brunson is less efficient with his shooting than Detroit was.

That is disappointing output efficiency wise.

Yet still, the Knicks look lost without him. His shot creation and more importantly playmaking are vital to their offense. Without Brunson, they don't have enough penetrative passing or driving. Everything is in front of the defense and easy to defend.

Those 31.5ppg and 8.2apg do become more efficient when you factor in his low turnover numbers at only 2.7 turnovers per game. The Knicks as a whole averaged only 13 turnovers per game against an aggressive Pistons defense. Brunson was the main part of that.

As I was watching that game last night, Brunson was reminding me more and more of a certain guard from the recent past = Allen Iverson.

Not the most efficient shooting wise but able to take on a huge offensive (scoring+playmaking) burden (31.5ppg 8.2apg against DET).

I wonder if AI is the best comp for what Brunson is doing currently.

I think its Isaiah Thomas from the 16-17 Celtics team. In fact, I think that team compares pretty similarly to this Knicks team.

Greg Popovich has retired from coaching, and will move to a front office job with the Spurs.

That's kinda' how I envision this series going. The only hangup I have is with how physical the refs allow Bridges and OG to be with Brown and Tatum.
