At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I like the way Ty Lue is going with Ben Simmons here against Jokic. This allows him to play Zubac in the 2nd unit instead. Denver likes to play Jokic all Q1 and sit him early at start of Q2. Same in 2nd half. This allows LAC to put Zubac out there then.

Denver played D Jordan in the 1st half because they were scared of Zubac against A Gordon. This forces DEN to play D Jordan who is largely useless at this point in his career and gives LAC a huge advantage on the court. This is when they made a run in the first half.

Now they are doing the same thing again in the 2nd half.

Denver might need to switch up their substitution plan to avoid this from happening. Play A Gordon as a small ball center now against Ben Simmons in order to keep Jokic for Zubac.

On the opposite side, if Ben Simmons is going to defend Jokic then DEN should try and post up Jokic. Jokic has been relucantant to post Zubac because Zubac is taller, longer and almost as strong as Jokic. Jokic has a huge physical advantage on B Simmons.

So if you are going to go with this matchup, at least exploit it.

Simmons defence is elite.

They hide him well on the other end too.

Braun has got to take that shot. He was right under the hoop. He got scared off by Nic Batum. Use your body. You can get that shot off. Instead he dribbles out, passes off, then makes an illegal screen and gets sent to the bench with his 4th foul.

Dumb.

Oh that was beautiful. Corner 3 by Batum.

Spacing not great for Denver with P Watson and R Westbrook. Both guys want to hug the baseline and cut for dunks.

Great defensive play by Murray to stop an easy 2 for Zubac before the period ended.

Kawhi is 11-12 FGA 3-3 FTA for 27pts. 2-3 on threes.

Looks like the might make Jokic play the entire 2nd half.

Not getting his usual rest here.

That was a harsh call on Bogs. I hope it doesn't stand.

That inability to overrule that out of bounds by Westbrook is crazy. They can randomly check and see if a player was out of bounds and not count the basket, but they can't do it on an actual challenge because it happened a second too early before the challenged contact? Make it make sense.

What a defensive play by K Dunn to intercept that pass for the sure dunk for A Gordon.

Oh wow - what an awful missed wide open dunk by Gordon. That could be huge.
