Still a horrendous trade but if they do get those guys back I wouldn?t call the Mavs an easy series for anyone

Even watching this game it felt noticeable the lack of size in the front court for both teams but Mavs may have reinforcements coming.

That is crazy production and efficiency for such an old player.

It has been so interesting so see how many leak outs he is getting for easy dunks in transition since Luka came in. I saw LeBron had a quote the other day saying he was a natural wide-receiver and Luka was a natural quaterback. LeBron's FG% has jumped up to 55.4% since Luka arrived.

Mavs fans have been giving out about the organization hiding information on injuries. They do not disclose much. They are accused of misleading fans.

With that in mind,

Lively has a stress fracture in his ankle. He is due to re-evaluated soon after being out for a month. That seems very soon for a stress fracture in his ankle. I am guessing it is just to give a more precise return date. Measure how his recovery is going.

Gafford is meant to be out for another month.

AD is supposedly going to be reevaluated in another week to see how his strain is recovering.

They are playing really hard right now, but I don't think it's sustainable. Vanderbilt, Rui, DFS, and Vincent are all over the court right now. James and Doncic are both engaged as well -- and they are really smart basketball players so they are making some defensive plays. Vanderbilt is getting away with a lot of fouls and playing really physical, but the refs will hold that accountable better soon.

Yes, they've looked really good on defense, but I don't believe it's sustainable. Hayes and Len have been basically unplayable. Teams will get tape on their defense and take advantage of them inside.

Yeah, that's another underrated point.  Teams don't have a lot of time to prepare during the regular season and after and huge trade like that the old playbook goes out the window.

To be honest i don't really worry that much about individual teams in the West. OKC is an absolutely elite team, as far as I'm concerned if they get knocked off by Denver or LAL that's a win for the Celtics. As good as Luka/Lebron and Jokic are I'd rather play those flawed teams than OKC, even tho I certainly think the C's could beat OKC.

I guess what i'm really saying is I expect whomever emerges from the West to be a very good team, whether its OKC or whatever team is playing well enough to beat OKC. I don't think its worth getting too worked up about what team it is. Its going to be a challenge regardless.

I feel like it is hard to say how good they are playing with Luka. Since he started playing they have played the Jazz twice, hornets, blazers, nuggets and Mavs down lively, Davis and Gafford. The nuggets game was very impressive, I was at it. But the rest has been pretty junky games and they did lose two of them.
