I just saw a report from Shams Charania that the Kings have opened talks to deal De'Aaron Fox, as Fox plans to sign somewhere else next off-season in 2026.
Wow. That is a big time player on the trade market.
I wonder who they could get for him.
1st IdeaI like the idea of a Devin Booker for D Fox swap. PHX gets to rebalance their lineup. A top notch PG. Beal at SG. A defender at SF. Durant. A center. Sacramento gets an All-Star caliber player in his prime.
2nd IdeaIf I am Philly, I would be hopefully dangling Tyrese Maxey in the hopes that is the best offer on the table. A young star PG to replace D Fox.
3rd IdeaHow about Houston? Van Vleet & Jabari Smith Jr for D Fox? Maybe a young prospect like Cam Whitmore as well. Sacramento finally gets a defensive PF to play alongside D Sabonis. J Smith Jr is young with potential. A 15ppg two way PF that could grow into a 17-20ppg scorer.
4th IdeaSan Antonio should offer up anything it takes outside of Wemby. Those two would be a dynamic duo. Stephon Castle and picks. Maybe Vassell as well. A new starting backcourt for Sacramento.
It doesn't offer SAC a replacement star but it could be a good rebuilding trade.
5th IdeaI wonder if there is any way Minnesota could get in on this. The deal would be around Randle. Maybe Randle, Naz Reid and Rob Dillingham. It does not offer Sacramento a top flight star or a top flight prospect. So not as good as some of the others. It does offer them a legit PF to play alongside Sabonis and a high quality backup big to play behind Sabonis giving them a strong big man rotation. Rob Dillingham looks a good long term prospect.
I'd love to see Ant get some real help. I hate seeing him have to do so much of the ball-handling and play-making. That is not his strength. Let him score.
