The ref just ejected Embiid in a close game between Philly and San Antonio. The second tech was certainly warranted, but the first one was soft. This is becoming a major concern now, like the players can?t even question the calls. Silver has to fix this.

I have no idea if this is the case but I would imagine when technicals are called that appear soft that the player was given multiple warnings and it was the final straw.

That's not to say there aren't plenty of refs with a short fuse.

The refs have been atrocious this year

Ant also lost his mind and ripped them apart in a postgame interview. Now the ejections in the Sixers games. Then you also had Kerr and Curry looking shook after the refs screwed GSW in that Houston game. Then that ref (I forgot his name) who had a power trip against us and Mazzulla looked like he wanted to fight him straight up

Generally I agree that the product would be better without the constant complaints after calls.  But getting that genie back in the bottle is probably easier said than done.  Yes, a barrage of quick technicals and ejections starts the process but at some point players are human and will react to foul calls. And if refs react with Ts to every complaint or not-me looks it could have big impact on important games.  And sometimes calls are so egregious that players have to react - in part to let their coach know that a call should be challenged.   I think it can?t end up an all or nothing situation - has to be some player response allowed.  But I?d like to see reduction in the every call reactions and I definitely think the player-ref discussions after calls needs to be mitigated.

Outside of OKC remaining the #1 seed, the entire West changes every day it seems lol. One minute Golden State is the #2 seed, then it's Houston, then Memphis, then Dallas, etc.

Denver is a flawed team but they are now the 5 seed and not far from the 2.

Spurs and Wemby being in a play-in spot is cool. I had predicted that, we'll see if they can keep it up. Ime and the Rockets deserve a ton of credit, don't think many expected them to even be a playoff team let alone Top-3 in the West currently.

Minnesota is the obvious choice for disappointing team but I think the biggest ones really over the last two seasons now is Sacramento. Idk what's happened to them. They had a great 2022 and an electric playoff series against Golden State, but since then it's mostly been average/mediocre play.

He?s a monster.

If he can stay healthy I truly believe he?s the next face of the league. The guy people thought Zion could have become

A 7? 3? big man who can shoot 3s and play great defense. Insane. I would like to see him maybe do a similar offseason program as Giannis to get a little more bulkier, I just worry his thin frame could hinder his career like Porzingis and make him more injury prone

The Knicks do not look like a Championship Contender thus far in the season. They have been a disappointment.

I wonder how much Mitchell Robinson's return can help them. Will he fix their defense? Give them better balance?

Hart's three point shooting has been much improved this year. Shooting 40%. Low volume. But consistent. Major improvement over past seasons. This was the only thing holding him back.

Despite this, Knicks still struggling.

Sochan is an incredible athlete. He blows me away every time I watch him move. The strength + quickness + ability to change directions. The combination of them is elite. Phenomenal combination for top level defensive play. Quick jumper + Multiple leap jumper for rebounding too. So much like Rodman.

Shame about the hair styles though ...

Wemby is still learning the difference between 'can' and 'should' in terms of shot selection.  These deep threes should be a last resort, not the go-to move. 

He's a beast though.  Ceiling is almost unlimited.

Agreed about Wemby?s shot selection. Feels like he should follow Jokic?s lead in terms of balancing post points with threes to keep defenses honest, unlike the more three point focused shot selection he has now. That said, reportedly coaches have long harped on this with Wemby for years to no avail, so it may just be something he?s stubborn about and won?t change.
