Fining a player $100K for swearing during a postgame interview seems a bit excessive. It?s not even like he swore at someone, just swore in general when talking about his game winning shot.

Kurt Helin: Anthony Edwards was fined $100,000 by the NBA for cursing during a televised interview. Again. Edwards has been fined $200K over the past few weeks for his postgame interviews. nbcsports.com/nba/news/antho? ? via Twitter basketballtalk

The broadcasters can be fined for airing the comments, so the NBA needs to make sure players keep their mouths clean.

I have not watched OKC much, but it sure seems Hartenstein has been a really good fit for them.  He?s putting up career numbers across the board.  Really solid signing.

Hartenstein is nearing Joakim Noah levels of performance. He is fantastic.

Not quite as mobile / active as Joakim was defensively but very strong defensively in his own right. A strong rebounder. But it is his passing that stands out so much. The more you watch him the more you appreciate his passing.

Quick decisions. Precise ball movement. Knows where everyone is before he catches the ball and finds open teammates. He has a strong dribble hand-off game. He even makes some nice passes off the bounce. Then the finishing around the paint. All those nice floaters from 10-12 feet. His offensive game is very good as a glue guy.

6 people were ejected from the Heat/Rockets game after a fight broke out. Green, Thompson, Herro, Rozier, coaches Ime Udoka and Ben Sullivan.

Strange incident. Seemed to come out of nothing. Amen Thompson lost his head. A small bit of contact on an inbounds to create some space leading so Amen grabs Herro, ties him up and then throws Herro to the ground. Why? Strange overreaction.

The Memphis Grizzlies tried to acquire Dorian Finney-Smith from the Brooklyn Nets, but they were only offering a top-17 protected first rounder in the 2025 draft. The Nets instead traded Finney-Smith to the Los Angeles Lakers for a package of three second rounders.

Brooklyn also would have had to trade a second round pick or two to the Grizzlies and take on salary.

The Nets had long held out for at least one first round pick for Finney-Smith and Dennis Schroder, but ultimately moved both players for a combined six second round picks. The Nets now own 16 second round picks over the next seven years.

The Brooklyn Nets are seeking multiple first round picks on the trade market for Cam Johnson.

Johnson is on a four-year, $94.5 million contract with the Nets.

I'd like to see Cam get a job as a starter somewhere. Not a bench player.

He'd be a good fit in Indiana. The SF position is the one weak starting spot for the Pacers. Cam's shooting and smart team offense would be a great fit in their system.

Toronto. RJ Barrett, Cam, Scottie Barnes would be a nice 2-3-4 combination for the Raptors.

Memphis needs a starting SF if they could find a way to afford Cam. Not sure that is possible for them.

Several veterans, including Jonas Valanciunas, Malcolm Brogdon, Bruce Brown, Kelly Olynyk, and Jordan Clarkson are expected to be available for a second-round pick, according to Marc Stein of The Stein Line.

Very good players for the low price of a 2nd rounder.

I still think Miami are missing Kelly Olynyk since they let him go several years ago. He'd be great for them. A skilled big who can play alongside Bam and give them a bigger lineup at times.

From the "Makes You Feel Old" department:

Lebron James turns 40 today. I remember being in college when he was making the cover of SI and having his high school games airing on ESPN.  Time really does fly the older you get.

I knew KAT was an excellent player and All-Star player, but man he is probably the best big man in the East right now. That trade is looking like a home run for the Knicks.

He also seems to be benefitting from the change in scenery. It's not often guys go from a smaller market and then thrive in a big market but KAT is really thriving in NY and making a bigger name for himself there. And you can tell he's enjoying it.

Kind of reminds me of when Porzingis joined Boston and the guy looked 10x happier than previous seasons and is always smiling here lol.

Cavs pummeling the Warriors in one of the classic NBA Finals rematch, up 63-43 at Chase Center. You can forget about the 1-seed at this point

Norman Powell scored 35pts tonight. He averaged 14ppg last year and is up to 24ppg this season. Impressive.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Yup, I?ve seen enough, cavs should be easy favorites to come out of the east. Doesn?t mean I don?t think the Celtics are capable of doing it, but the Cavs have earned the right to be favorites and are absolutely owning this regular season, even more so then the Celtics did last year

Kat has been massively underrated by a large portion of the brain dead media that wanted to give all the credit to Ant for the wolves success?.absolutely moronic move by them to trade him for Julius  Randle. And yes Kat is an all star(again) and the best big man in the east by a wide margin

Some advanced stats had KAT as a borderline top 10 player in the league prior to Gobert arriving. The last time KAT played as a full time center. That team that made the playoffs with Vanderbilt. Maybe Ant's first playoff appearance. KAT was the leader at that time.

Avdija had 10 turnovers last night. He is not even a primary ball-handler. 10 turnovers! Only 2 assists. Only 9 FGA and 5 FTA. 10 turnovers! Yikes.

Golden State with 2 wins and 5 losses since they acquired Schroder. I do not understand why they are starting Schroder and playing Steph as a SG. It is a disaster for them defensively. And rebounding wise especially since they are already small up front, they need guards to help out rebounding wise.

They need to bench Schroder and only play him the 10-15min a game that Steph does not play.

It is amazing. They have recreated the problem of Steph & Monta Ellis from the beginning of Steph's career which they correctly identified as too defensively vulnerable to ever be a title contender. Why would you recreate that? You understood it did not work and why it did not work.

Golden State has been badly run team since Mike Dunleavy Jr took over.

Jokic and Westbrook both with triple doubles.

Jokic = 36pts 22reb 11ast 4stl
Westbrook = 16pts 10ast 10reb 4stl

The rest of the starting lineup had big games too.

MPJ = 21pts 6reb
Braun = 20pts 2stl 1blk
Jamal Murray = 20pts 10ast 2stl 1blk

Jamal Murray with double digit assists too. 3 players with double digit assits for the Nuggets in that game against Utah. Not sure I have seen that before. Rare.
