Drake Maye is legit.

This offensive line and the weapons outside of Douglas and Henry are not.

They absolutely need to make a bunch of changes and additions this offseason to the roster. Two WRs, two OTs, and a good amount of talent infusion on the defense particularly at CB2 and the pass rush.

Haven't had a decent QB since the Tom Brady days. Good to see Maye is legit.

Dang Slye's kick was so close. 68 yarder... very impressive.

Overall though, that's an embarrassing loss. Yes, the offense played well and Maye's legit, but the final 8 minutes of this game was an indictment on Mayo and the coaching staff. Colts with Richardson just doing whatever they want, then they get a rather easy TD AND 2-point conversion. Pathetic. And honestly even the possession the Pats had after the INT, why are you running it straight two times in a row? Could have gone for the kill there with a few first downs.

I know the roster is putrid but idk if I'm confident in Mayo. Funny enough, AVP to me feels like the guy I'm more confident with because there's no doubt he's helped to develop Maye and has improved the offense in the last few months. Covington (the DC) needs to go.

Also, for the third straight season the New England Patriots are knocked out of playoff contention after losing to the Colts and coupled by the Texans and Chargers' wins today.

The last time I checked the game, the Colts were driving with only a couple minutes left. I saw them convert two fourth downs?fairly easily?and I thought, "It would be hilarious if the Pats gave up a touchdown AND a 2-point conversion to lose the game" (as opposed to merely going to OT and losing). Checked a little later and saw that that was indeed what happened, and I chuckled.

Of course, it didn't help that Slye missed a bunny FG and that Henry bobbled a pass right into a Colts defender's hands.

This team is so lame right now.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I would keep AVP and Mayo, but get rid of Covington and bring in someone experienced. If Mayo/AVP haven't improved next year, move on from them, but give them year two to show if they're actually growing into their roles.

We need to actually build a competent roster, too. We need to bring in 2 starting tackles (plus maybe a guard and center), a #1 receiver, and a ton of defensive help. We have the cap space and the picks to improve the roster a lot this summer, so hopefully we can do enough to start winning these close games instead of losing them
I'm bitter.

Oh gosh, not a wide receiver. I don't trust the front office to get that right.

I would've been happier if he'd just hit the 25-yarder. :P

I just meant the draft in general. The Pats never end up picking the player that the mocks have them pegged to pick anyway. If they did, could have had Deebo, AJ Brown or Metcalf. Or McConkey instead of Polk.

Winning yesterday really wouldn't have helped matters.   It was kind've of a "best of both worlds" loss.  It's becoming clearer & clearer that the Pats have something with Maye and he certainly looks like "the guy".  On the defensive side of things, Gonzalez is an absolute stud.

So they're getting some cornerstones in place.  Get that top 5 pick and continue to build.  Need to utilize that cap space well.

The coaching is the question mark.  Personally, I don't think this staff is it long term and will need to be addressed at some point.  I also don't necessarily trust the Krafts in regards to building this thing back up.
