Barry Jackson @flasportsbuzzThis is key: By remaining under second apron (which the Heat strongly wants to do), Miami can aggregate players in any trade through next June. They couldn't if they were above the 2nd apron. So they can do 3 for 2 deals for 2 or 3 or whatever but CANNOT take more money back
Barry Jackson @flasportsbuzzIt's important to note that main point stated in Riley press conference was games missed; there was no concession that talent is lacking. At its heart, Heat believes it has a real good team that just needs to stay healthy (based on 3 long playoff runs in 5 years).

John Hollinger @johnhollingerLooks like Spurs did Barnes trade and CP signing without cutting Champagnie; unless CP took a paycut, that would seem to indicate that Barnes waived his trade kicker.
Theis to the Pelicans.

Theis ended the 2023-2024 season with the Los Angeles Clippers."

He's an okay defender, not terrible, but not really a guy you feel great putting on a teams bets offensive option. And he's not a high volume three point shooter, only taking about 4.1 per 36 last year. Both of those are skills you'd like to have next to Mitchell/Garland. But that's sort of the problem with Ingram. The things he's good at like on ball offensive certain he's not really good enough at to be the #1 option on a good team, and he doesn't have those secondary skills to be an elite #2 option.

Riley did have critical comments about him when Butler said "NY and Boston would both lose if he was playing" and Riley literally said "if you aren't playing, you shouldn't be saying that". Butler has sort of load managed in previous seasons and last year in particular it hurt them because they only got to a play-in and lost early. Then there's some tension about the contract extension talks. Obviously if someone gets hurt for real that's different, but Riley seems to be saying up front "if you're available, then you're playing" and especially to Butler.

They don?t have enough talent to compete with other healthy teams in the East if the other teams are also healthy. They squeaked by us the season before last but have lost a number of key contributors from that series in struss, Vincent and now Martin. They have added Vazquez and rozier since then but hard to call that much more than a wash. The other problem is butler is now two years older and they are big years. The amount of players that are capable of carrying a team at 33 versus 35 is a huge difference. This isn?t even bringing up the fact how much other teams have improved in this time like the Knicks Celtics and Philly. So yeah if he thinks they have enough he is delusional
Rondae Hollis-Jefferson has been out of the NBA for three seasons already. Playing for various teams internationally, the 29-year-old forward wants another shot to play in the biggest league in the world.
Since leaving the NBA, Hollis-Jefferson has played in Turkiye, Puerto Rico, South Korea, and the Philippines.Last summer, he represented the Jordanian national team in the 2023 FIBA World Cup where he went viral online for making moves resembling the late Kobe Bryant. The forward averaged 23.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 4.4 assists for 22.6 EFF per game, becoming one of the most prolific players in the tournament, surrounded by NBA stars.
The player feels he has the skill to play in the NBA once again, and he just doesn't get the chance. Hollis-Jefferson published a lengthy post on X, formerly Twitter, where he explained his position:I was going to let it slide and play out the way it's supposed to but there's no way I can sit back and let people discredit all the work I've put in. Mentally, physically, and skillfully. My game has evolved in many ways while still having the tools that got me to the NBA. I'm confused as to why I can't get an opportunity? OK, I made mistakes at 24 that I wouldn't make at 30. But that's life, you learn from those mistakes. I'm not asking for anything other than a chance. Edited. Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline., I'll sleep in the gym.You can't say it's just the shooting component anymore. There are 3/4 players on almost every team that can't make a shot outside of the paint. But it's not about just shooting if you want to win. I can come off the bench and give any team a spark.
