More woj

As intrigued as the Rockets have been about Durant, they're determined to use the Suns picks to be aggressive on deals elsewhere now, sources tell ESPN. Phoenix has made it clear that they want to run it back with this group, and Houston is seeking a major upgrade now.

lol that lasted like 5 seconds

Heat falling further behind in the east. They will lose Martin and you have the butler mess.

Okay, it look like what happened here is Brklyn is essentially swapping Phoenix's draft to Houston in exchange for their own draft back.

So Houston is giving up the right to swap their pick with Brk in 2025 but getting the right to swap their own with Phoenix in 2025. They are giving up the Brk 2026 pick but getting back the Phoenix 2027 pick.

They are also getting the more favorable of Dallas/Phoenix in 2029 as well as the right to swap their pick with the less favorable of the two. Basically, they'll have the best 2 of their own, Dallas and Phoenix in 2029.

They also retained the right to swap their own with BRK in 2027.

Knicks bench looks shaky.

They can?t keep both Hartenstein and OG

Hartenstein to me feels OKC bound.

NY will probably have to just pay Anunoby

That's a TON to give up for Bridges, who, while a nice player, is not exactly the star level talent they need. They're a good two-way team, but I still don't think they can beat Boston. Still also think they're lacking in sufficient top-end talent to truly compete.

Also, does this mean they're not going to be able to retain OG now, too, or lose Randle?

The Knicks now have about 140 million in committed salary. If they bring back OG at 35 per they'd have only about 15 million left to fill out their team under the 2nd apron. Not enough for Hartenstein unless they move off some salary.

They are hard capped at the 2nd apron since they took back more in Salary than they sent out in the Bridges trade.

Knicks are going all in. I believe they will re-sign OG and Hartenstein and offload Robinson. They are going to be a very good defensive team. Loading up to matchup up with the Cs.

Having to count on Mitchell Robinson is down right scary

Brooklyn might look like another Celtics juggernaut when those unprotected picks work out lol

The Knicks are still determined to keep OG Anunoby in free agency, sources tell ESPN, but the ability to resign center Isaiah Hartenstein becomes more difficult now. The Knicks are loading up on wings to match up with the NBA champion Boston Celtics.

Seriously, good on the Nets. They said no to far worse offers than what they ended up getting for Bridges. Tank this year for some real talent in the next draft and see where you are after the ping pong balls fall where they may.

I believe by completing the trade in this league year they are not hard-capped.  They would be if the trade took place on or after July 1st.

EDIT: I am wrong.  The Knicks are hard-capped.  Brad nailed last off-season aggregating when he could.

So Bridges really wanted the Knicks. Does this explain the boatload of picks the Knicks sent so they could get Bridges now? He has 2 years left on his BKN contract. They could have easily traded him to some other club and make the Knicks wait for 2 years?
