Man that January stretch is gonna be brutal. You got at Minnesota, at OKC, at Denver and Sacramento. Then you go on a west coast trip on MLK week with a visit to San Francisco, then to LA for both teams (we get the second b2b night at Lakers, yikes), then fly to Dallas for that Saturday.

just had a really weird reaction reading your list of highlighted games. i was like "wait, why are the mavericks games so important?.... ohhh yeah".

On a side note, when I look back to the season, it's still shocking to me Dallas was the team that made it out of the West. Good for them, they had an awesome run. But like we all went in expecting Denver or Minnesota or OKC or someone else and it was Dallas lol.

I know a bunch of us were hoping they'd be the team, but didn't want to say anything until after the Cs won. I'm not saying we couldn't have beaten Denver, Minny, or OKC, but those teams just looked so much more formidable and had given us more problems during the season.

Yeah if we played Denver it would have been a dogfight. I was confident we could beat the other 3, though in order I'd definitely have it as Denver > Minnesota > OKC > Dallas in terms of "hardest to easiest" opponent order.

Good interesting game for banner night. But 1000 is insane.

This just reminded me of the last time they raised a banner in 2008.  The game was against Lebron and the Cavs.  A CelticsBlog member messaged me saying he had an extra ticket that he offered me at face value.  I took the ticket and sat by myself at a game (something I?ve never done before or since).  It was great to there and I was super grateful for the opportunity.  Back then big game tickets definitely cost a little more, but I remember getting tickets for a couple of 2008 playoff games on eBay for maybe double face value.  Nothing crazy.

Tickets are nuts now.  Gotta pay those bajillion dollar contracts.

Anyhow?the banner raising ceremony is a very emotional and cool moment.  If you can swing it I recommend it!
Yup

Lol we paid less than 1000/ticket (including taxes/fees) to attend Game 5 of the actual 2024 Finals.

Derrick Lively mocked Jayson Tatum after Dallas's schedule was released and announcing the games against the Celtics lol. Lose an NBA Finals and still mock them 😂

Jayson Tatum on winning NBA championship: That felt like the weight of the world was off my shoulders

It has been a crazy summer, Jayson Tatum said, Was fortunate enough to win my second gold medal with the national team. And to finally win NBA championship, that?s something that I?ve been working (toward) for a very, very long time. I?ve gotten extremely close a few times, and finally got over the hump. So that was special. That felt like the weight of the world was off my shoulders after that one.

Jayson Tatum: We had a hell of a team last year. It was so fun to be a part of that. The journey that we had, how we kind of dominated the regular season and went 16-3 in the playoffs. It looked like it was easy, but it wasn?t. It was hard. Played some really good teams. And it?s exciting to be able to run it back (in 2024-25). Same team coming back we?re even more motivated to win another one.via stltoday.com

Not sure if this is the right thread, although it does deal with a Celtic player- In case nobody knew, Ella Mai gave birth to a boy. Deuces about to have a baby half-brother and Jayson Tatum about to carry two boys for next year's Finals celebration!  ;D

In late June, a day before NBA free agency began in earnest, Lonnie Walker IV found him still unsigned.

Walker, a former first-round pick who?s averaged 9.8 points over six seasons in the league, took to Twitter to share his thoughts on the matter.

I ain?t even reach my prime yet, Walker, 25, wrote. Yall gonna see soon. The apology better be just as loud as the disrespect.

Mental fortitudeis the ability to have strength in the face of adversity. When you?re knocked down, go get back up and fight,' he wrote.

Walker encouraged all the underdogs out there to not give up or lose hope.

Enjoy the grind, the process, and enjoy the chapter you are in, Walker wrote. Sometimes life is going great, and sometimes you have to reach the bottom to pick yourself back up. But that?s the beauty in it all.

Remember your hardest battle is yourself, Walker said. Thanks to everyone who congratulated me but the job is far from finished. I?m excited for what?s yet to become.

Tatum is in China doing a tour with the other Jordan Brand guys. Kinda funny how him and Doncic aren?t standing next to each other in any of the pictures.

Also, Zion appears to have lost a bunch of weight and Luka looks like a tank.

I heard it was a girl? Anyway, she had the baby in June, that's why he was delayed getting to Paris for the Olympics. Congrats to them.

Strange I kinda remembered seeing her still pregnant in June. She's pretty low-key though, obscures privacy life from social media. I just found out in one of the Olympic family photoshoots with JT haha.

Wow Zion looks so different. It'd be great for the league if he kept in shape and stayed healthy along with Wemby. I still think he can be an elite player in the league.

Doncic has always been pretty muscular, it's just weird because in-season he sometimes looks doughy but he looks good here too.
