Is Sam Darnold seeing ghosts yet?  ???

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

If they stick by that, they're foolish.  Shockingly dumb.

I don't really get what's going on in Dallas, either.  If Jones is taking a continuity approach like the Steelers have traditionally with their coaches, I think they've got the wrong guy to build with.  I guess it's the "stick with the mediocre guy, because the new guy might be way worse" approach?

Chargers > Texans 27-20
Ravens > Steelers 34-17 (the typical "Steelers are pretenders" game and blowout)

Bills > Broncos 27-16
Eagles > Packers 35-27 (IMO the game of the week)
Bucs > Commanders 23-20

Rams > Vikings 27-23

WR Tyreek Hill said he's opening the door, he's done with Miami Dolphins. Something wrong with the waters in Miami, following the Jimmy Butler footsteps here lol.

Patriots should go after him

He wants no part of a rebuild. He's 31 next season.  He'll try to steer himself to a contender.  Also, if you're the Pats, do you want to tie up that much money in an over 30 WR?

He's an awesome player but if you paid attention to MIA as well, he often came up short in the big games with crucial drops or plays in critical moments.

Yes he won a SB with KC, but KC has won two more since letting him walk.

I think he dominated 2022 and 2023 largely thanks to Mike McDaniel's scheme and motion offense, but as teams started to see more film and adjust Hill wasn't that effective this year.

Personally if he wanted to join NE along with Maye and some other premium talent we hopefully add via trade/FA, then I'd be fine giving up a 2nd rounder for him but nothing more.

How did a Vikings team led by Sam Darnold win 14 games? I realize that the Lions are a really tough opponent, but Darnold was consistently misfiring yesterday even when he wasn't pressured. He did not look good at all.

Having a top 5 defense by your side helps.

To be fair to Darnold, he's had a helluva season.  Yesterday was arguably his biggest stinker.  Just bad timing to have it.

I noticed the Vikings played a relatively easy schedule that helped them too. NFC West minus the Rams, AFC South, Atlanta, the Jets, the Giants, Da Bears twice, barely beat GB twice, barely beat AZ and SEA. Those barely games could have gone either way. Their schedule was like Patriots 2019-lite.

I think the Rams will eat them alive on Monday, one of the two teams they've lost to this season by double-digits.

It's the combination of HC Kevin O'Connell, DC Brian Flores, and a roster that actually has blue chip talent (guys like Jefferson). It's helped Darnold a ton and the players buy into O'Connell's system, plus it's proven to be pretty successful as well. Flores has been amazing for that defense as well. Even last night don't let the score fool you, he did very well and MIN was down 17-9 in the 4th, but Darnold and the offense just got nothing going and then DET just iced it late.

Now I agree though, even for them going 14-3 with Darnold as the starting QB is crazy, but like Sparz said their schedule wasn't as brutal. Lost to DET twice, lost a close one to the Rams. Played a few teams that weren't as good as expected like the Niners and Texans. Besides that mostly easy. They didn't play PHI nor did they play any elite AFC team.

Thanks for the info, everyone. I guess the Vikings prove that lots of good things can happen with an offense if it has a good O-line and a stud receiver.
