Wonder if Ben Johnson goes to Dallas now

Actually I just realized, what if the Cowboys did this earlier and there were indications they'd have interest in Belichick. Could that have happened instead of Belichick going to UNC? Or maybe Jerry Jones just really didn't want Belichick at all

From the speculation I've read, if BB got offered an NFL job he'd have no problem saying goodbye to UNC.

I expect he'll only stay at UNC for a year. Then go back to the NFL. His current buyout from UNC is 10M but I think after this upcoming season it decreases to just 1M.

When Belichick turns 80 people are still going to be saying, ?Well, I wonder if team X will give Bill a call.?  ;D

I'm still waiting for the Celts to bring back Antoine, so anything is possible.

Jerry Jones is hurting that franchise, but I'll also add it's been well-known McCarthy was already coaching at a lower salary than usual and was in favor with the Jones' just like Jason Garrett because he always kissed up to them.

So who exactly are they expecting to hire that's willing to do it for cheap and be willing to constantly kiss up to them? I don't think there's as many options as you'd think, maybe desperate ones like the ones the Pats interviewed to satisfy the rooney rule (Leftwich, Hamilton).

The juiciest story would be if Deion Sanders coaches the Cowboys, then they make a bunch of trade for his kid.

Told you the Vikings were frauds. Benefitted from an easy schedule. Against a well-balanced and good team like the Rams, they cannot win. It's over.

That's the Sam Darnold I came to know. The Jets' Sam Darnold. Seeing ghosts.

Here are my predictions for wild-card weekend:

Chargers @ Texans; 27-17 Chargers
Steelers @ Ravens; 30-13 Ravens
Broncos @ Bills; 28-24 Bills
Packers @ Eagles; 37-34 Eagles
Commanders @ Bucs; 30-24 Commanders
Vikings @ Rams; 27-19 Rams

Woops on the Chargers, but I think most folks circled them to advance against the Texans.

Divisional Rounds prediction:

Houston @ Kansas City; 24-6 Kansas City
Washington @ Detroit; 38-16 Detroit
Los Angeles @ Philadelphia; 27-24 Los Angeles
Baltimore @ Buffalo; 13-10 Buffalo

AFC games may face snow so anticipate some low-scoring games and second-round bye for KC (still won't crack 31 points). Battle of two physical teams in Philly but I got the Rams upsetting Eagles despite short rest.

How much money has Darnold cost himself the past two weeks?

I guess the clock struck 12:00 midnight for Darnold.  Tough decisions for MIN now.  Do you go with a rookie QB coming of multiple knee surgeries?  Will Daronld settle for a "keep the seat warm" role?

I would think that Darnold would take another short, decent contract in MIN unless someone offers him something silly.

Minnesota Vikings rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy underwent a second knee surgery this week as he continues working his way back from a torn meniscus. McCarthy, the No. 10 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of Michigan, suffered his original injury in the preseason, but needed another procedure on his right knee to mitigate swelling that occurred after he ramped up his physical therapy work, per head coach Kevin O'Connell. McCarthy also received a biologic injection, according to ESPN.
