Pride of Detroit from SBNation blaming Ben Johnson on this...wonder if his stock value drops in terms of coaching. Now teams may have to second-think about getting him on their team.

Glad we got Vrabel.

To be fair, it's hard to blame Ben Johnson when DET's defense literally can't get any stops.

They should be blaming more of the DC Aaron Glenn (the guy who also declined NE's interview request lol).

And they also had tons of injuries on defense.

And Jared Goff is a fraud. The only reason for his success is he's been on ridiculously stacked teams. Put him on the Patriots and it would look like the last year of the Mac Jones era.

The wild thing is that Stafford is the 2nd best QB in the whole NFC. Behing a freaking rookie. Put a better QB in Detroit,  Minnesota, Green Bay, or Philadelphia and any of those teams would be a shoe-in for the SB.

I mean injuries are part of the game and it's the DC's job to adjust. But to allow 45 points in your own field is unacceptable. They're 15-2 #1 seed so didn't look like they had any trouble winning games with injured players.

Agreed that Goff is a goof. But still should fault some blame on Ben Johnson...think he got too carried away with interviews and not game prepping for this week. Aaron Glenn can get lost from the Lions lol.

So is Jalen Hurts not the best QB in the NFC?

Things could get interesting for Detroit assuming Ben Johnson and Aaron Glenn leave. How will that affect the team and Campbell? There were people who believed Ben Johnson really ran things in Detroit while Campbell was more a ?hype guy? and aggressor.

Is Campbell gonna be exposed without those two? I think he will be fine but when Ben Johnson leaves that OC position and scheme will be tough to replicate

And also, do they want to continue with Goff or try and get another QB?

Yeah probably but Same thing everyone thought when the patriots made it, especially when they were undefeated and lost and also when playing a backup quarterback in Nick foles.
Anything can happen, that core has already lost a Super Bowl

NFL really needs to address QBs, namely Mahomes, baiting refs into throwing flags.

Mobile QBs are a big part of the league now, they?re RBs when they?re out of the pocket.  You can?t act like you?re sliding to give yourself up when defenders are already in the process of trying to tackle you.

Slowing down before getting out of bounds to let defenders push and then flopping for a late hit should be a unsportsmanlike conduct penalty if caught in real time, or a fine by the league after the fact.  Enough already.

Yes.  But it?s like a flopping foul in the NBA - intent is not so easy to presume in real time.  Mahomes flop on the sidelines was pretty obvious but the good news is they didn?t flag the D. I think the extreme of a 15-yard penalty might cause a ref to hesitate - a five yarder from the spot of the foul with loss of down might make more sense.
I hate to say it but unnecessary roughness calls should be reviewable.  The one on Mahomes was clearly a non-call and that would have been reversed on review.
The fake slide is the worst. It?s ridiculously unfair to defenses.  I don?t really blame Mahomes for doing it if doesn?t get called.

If you read my original post again, I wrote that it should be a penalty if caught in real time or fine after the fact.  But yeah I agree it puts the refs in a hard spot regardless.  Maybe the answer is to just always throw the flag and then like you said, review it and take the penalty away if need be.  Or give the penalty to the offense, if there was a flop or they were baited.  If refs can throw flags against the defense for baiting offensive lineman to false start then it should work the other way around

In the commanders game there was a 15yd face mask call that clearly wasn?t a face mask.  The refs on the field have an ear piece to the booth, if all of us sitting at home can see replays clearly showing there was no foul all before the next snap still hasn?t taken place yet, there?s no excuse not to be able to fix the mistake

Those two RTP calls were bogus. The first one wasn't even an RTP. The second one was even worse...two defenders just hitting each other and didn't even touch Mahomes.

KC shall lose in the AFCCG.

But if we get a Superbowl rematch of KC/PHI (gross 2.0), Eagles are taking it. Or maybe the NFL wants that 2018 shootout that they've always dreamed of, KC/Rams Superbowl! Lol

Jalen Hurts with a 44-yard rushing TD.

13-7 Eagles. Pretty high-scoring first quarter

Safety.  13-12 now.  Eagles will be very lucky to win this. So will Rams.  The weather is dominating this game.

Commanders looking like a very good chance to get to the SB.  Hurts? knee is a problem.  Rams are very beatable.  Rams-Commanders would be in LA, right?
