Tired of the volume 3 offense

It’s lazy and unsustainable for this team

Celtics are a low basketball iq team. Have been for years. Just dumb in the most important moments

I was listening to a Draymond Green interview on the JJ Redick podcast. It was after they beat BOS in the Finals. Draymond was talking about a reporter asking him some question about the difference between facing LeBron and BOS and the relative BBIQ of the two teams.

Draymond starts laughing. There is no comparison. Like how can you compare LeBron to this Boston team? LeBron is one of the smartest basketball players on all time. He dominates the game. And in so many ways. Boston do not even compare. It is not a question. It is ridiculous.

It was meant more in praise of LeBron's brilliance than an insult to BOS. Just how under-rated his BBIQ is. How smart a player he is. How well he controls games.

That that 2022 GSW team never could have beaten LeBron in the finals. They weren't good enough. LeBron was too smart. BOS weren't.

--------------------

It does feel like that though. That we do not have that high IQ team leader. That player that will ensure we will get a good possession when we need it. It is more haphazard. Never sure what you are going to get.

I know that if Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett, and Rajon Rondo were here they would not let this happen. They'd go out guns blazing, go hard, and play smart.

Does anybody realize that our answer to the 3 point dominated offense is KP, who was out tonight? It’s one game. Stuff happens. No sense getting so down.

Seriously though. If KP is out, it don't mean a dang that they should attempt 60 3's in a game. Drive inside. Score inside. Layups. Draw fouls. Use Queta. Throw bodies in there.

That's the job of a coach. Change up the scheme.

58 three-point attempts. That is incredibly bad basketball, but shooting the most 3's is Joe's idea of great basketball.
He called that stat the most important factor in today's game. Who says something that idiotic, has a playoff meltdown and gets re-hired ??

Joe thinks that Curry n Klay play for him.

Tatum n Brown will never be a great 3pt shooter. We are actually lucky to have Hauser n White, without whom our season would have been a disaster.

We can still improve the team simply by asking the Jays to reduce their 3pt shot attempts.

Another game just given away....Did we have any timeouts in regulation? Tatum hero ball is an utter failure.
Larry Bird was Greater than you think.

It's the same old theory that you will just out talent everyone. Hasn't worked yet, and when they are in another Game 7 against Miami hoping to not fall apart what can you do? This team is its own worst enemy.

been saying it for years: the C’s never win a chip with the Jays. they’re mentally soft, have no killer instinct, and possess the lowest bbiq i’ve ever witnessed by so called stars. we’re six years in and absolutely nothing has changed.
Oh come on. They lost a game when a team got white hot.  Stuff happens. Do you realize that a 60 win season is generally championship level? That’s 22 losses to criticize. They lost because they couldn’t hit very good open shots. It happens. Stop searching for a reason for every loss.

no, they lost to a far inferior team because they lack the discipline to play winning basketball. six years into the jay’s tenure, third coach, another roster overhaul, and the same results. mentally soft, zero killer instinct, and brutally low bbiq.

keep making excuses for their failures and enjoy your moral victories because these chumps aren’t winning a banner.
They got 4 offensive rebounds in a row with a minute to go. That’s effort and typically leads to good results. Shots didn’t fall. Good teams lose. Do you ever watch other teams? Relax and stop being so dramatic. This loss is frustrating as heck but to completely give up hope after a single loss is a joke.

you’re not paying attention to what’s actually happening in the games, and you’re definitely not comprehending what i’m stating in my posts. what we’re witnessing is a six year trend, during which nothing has changed. anyone arguing otherwise is a hopeless homer or shares a low bbiq with the jays. as i stated years ago, this team isn’t winning a title with the jays, and to-date, i am correct. but by all means, ignore what you’re witnessing and keep hope alive.
Then stop rooting for them if you’re so sure.

you still don’t get it. i’m a C’s fan, and i think we have enough evidence six years in to confidently state the jays aren’t bringing a title to boston.

the evidence? literally nothing has changed in six years with these guys. we're watching a good team play great basketball at times, put up amazing stats, but choke in big moments because they’re mentally soft, lack a killer instinct, and possess brutally low bbiq.

sadly, not one celtic will call anyone out after tonight’s debacle. they’ll trot out the same tired talking points and state how they have to be better. nothing we haven’t heard a thousand times. champions hate losing but it doesn’t seem to bother these guys very much. face it, the jays are talented guys but don’t possess championship pedigree.

So tonight vs the kings I guess we see a skeleton crew playing. Designed loss.

Get to LA and watch the clippers run circles around them

Close game on Christmas that James wins in the end.

0-4 road trip. Third place in the east as we move into 2024.

I’ve not seen such an unclutch Group of core players before like this

Yeah I don't see them winning another game until next Thursday. This was the one game they should have won comfortably and they blew it. No chance they stand against a well-rested Kings team or a star-studded Clippers team. And you can bet LeBron and his house will be hostile on Christmas day.

Just what happened to this team who was so good on the road? Was it the Marcus Smart effect? The loss of Timelord? Perhaps trading Smart was a mistake and the one who needed to go was Brown?

um brown is playing great right now and is what he is.
Tatum is 1000% the problem

brown was great early but disappeared when it mattered. tatum was MIA all game (again). real stars/champions don’t simply put up big stats, they show up when the game is on the line. the jays excel at the former (most nights) but consistently fail at the latter.

speaking of brown, you don’t mock curry with the “too small” gesture and then proceed to clank the FT off the front of the rim. that whole sequence was perfectly on brand for brown. what an embarrassment.

Then what are you rooting for? A trade? You know that’s not happening. It’s easy to say a team doesn’t have what it takes to win it all. There’s only 1 team winning every year out of 32. 2 years ago they came within 2 games of winning it all. You appear to be 100% certain that they can’t bridge that two game gap. You have to admit you are just being dramatic. There is no way you can say with 100% certainty that this team can’t win a title. Otherwise, you are a fool to watch. I assume venting just makes you feel better.

What good would calling your teammates or coach in public do though? This is a common refrain from a lot of frustrated fans - why can't they call out Joe/Tatum/whoever the pinata is. Call out Al for bricking all those 3s. Call out JT for missing that bunny at the rim. Call out Joe for forcing them to keep taking 3s. I get it that we want to feel like they care, but as a team I think they would reserve all their criticism for each other inside the locker room because it's not really anyone else's business but theirs. Why give the media, both mainstream and social, a field day by taking potshots at each other? Jose Mourinho was infamous for doing that to his soccer teams when they started losing and it was always a disaster for morale.

I just accept brown is what he is. A lower level all star and role player on this team.he can play the game he did tonight and we should win. Tatum is suppose to be mvp caliber and is going to need to be for this team to accomplish anything and he just simply isn’t at that level. Hard for me to blame brown more over Tatum.

i’m not calling for it publicly, but based on the way these guys haven’t improved in critical areas for six years, i’d say it’s a safe bet they’re not doing it privately. if it was, we’d see some proof of it by now, right?

normally, i’d criticize the coach for the lack of improvement in key areas, but considering we’ve witnessed the same failures and lack of growth over three coaches, it’s clearly an issue with the jays.

i agree, tatum is first in line for blame. i just hold brown to a higher standard than he probably deserves, partially due to his ridiculous contract.

I missed this one. Always so many more posts for a loss than a win.  ;D
