While I think KP was definitely snubbed giving it to Barnes over him, especially as a third year player on a terrible team, I think the even bigger disrespect is naming Bam as the starter replacement for Embiid over Brown.

Brown is on the much better team that has literally swept Bam’s team this year. But beyond that, Brown was also 4th in frontcourt starter voting results, AND he led all the reserves as the top reserve selection. There’s literally no justification for naming Bam over JB other than trying to diversify the teams represented - the same awful excuse for giving it to Barnes over KP.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Bird was just named “Legend of the Year” by the NBA Retired Players Association.  Fitting to have it happen in Indiana.

Gary Washburn tweeted out the speech

This was great. Love that he called for the current NBA all-stars to play hard in the all-star game tonight

How is Bam in the All Star game and not Porzingis? Prorzingis is on the best team in the league with 20.2 pts on great efficiency. Bam is on a play in team with 20.2  pts on worse efficiency...

Bam's scoring is the weakest part of his game. His main contribution is his defense which is top notch. Then his passing which is high level. Then his rebounding which is good. Then is scoring which is okay.

Bam deserves his spot. He has been excellent for Miami.

I think others are right who say Porzingis deserved it over Scottie Barnes. The Raptors have been awful. They have underachieved all year long. Both before and after their midseason trades. S Barnes is not delivering wins. Porzingis is. The spot should have gone to Porzingis.

I agree here completely. Bam is deserving. He's not a big scorer, so I think the other parts of his game gets overlooked but it's not as flashy. But Zinger over Barnes was the choice to me.

JT says he met Larry Bird for the first time tonight... After six years in the league... It's wild that legends can be so checked out on the franchises they played for.

I said what I said.

That's sad honestly.  All of the times Tatum has played against Indy in these past years and they never bumped into each other?

I'm not sure if that's a dig at Tatum or Bird.

Lillard’s defense in the ASG looks the same as it does in a regular game.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Not a dig at Tatum at all.

Little bit of Bird, little bit of the Celtics organization IMO.  Bird is notoriously hard to reach, but I would have thought he'd at least come out to say hello to the new face of his former franchise once in six-plus years.  That's not asking much.  And on the Celtics' side, they don't have a reputation for treating their former players and legends well.  So it doesn't shock me that Bird doesn't have a relationship with the franchise anymore for whatever reason.

It's pretty well documented that Bird wanted a place with the Celtics after retirement and they rejected him. We're surprised Larry Bird held a grudge???

Bird is also a pretty private, reclusive guy who wants no part of media and fan attention. It's really hard to get him to come to anything. If he wasn't in Indiana to begin with I doubt he would have shown up tonight. He's also on record saying he doesn't like coming to games in Boston because he doesn't want to take attention away from the current players.

Lillard and Haliburton the top two guys in the race for all-star game MVP so far.
