Did I really hear Reggie Miller say that the game has advanced farther because Lauri Markannen scored 25 and Larry Bird scored 16?

There is the whole thing of being able to get a max score of 40 in today’s competition. Not exactly fair to compare to a time without moneyball racks or Starry 3-balls.

Dunk contest about to start…

They really just missed JB's first dunk live.

Honestly, was a bit underwhelmed by the first JB dunk. I get the history and everything with Nique, but you have to have more stuff in the dunk contest. I mean, he literally did that exact dunk in the first Milwaukee game this year haha I do think he's more of an in-game dunker than a dunk show person, though he's one of the  best in recent years at in-game dunks and especially posters.

My God, Reggie and Kenny arguing is ANNOYING! I'd rather hear Doris Burke announce this.

If they're penalizing for missing then I get it.  It was definitely the best dunk in the round in a vacuum, but I don't entirely disagree with the idea that getting it on the first try is more impressive.

I liked JB's first dunk, but I'm very surprised that the second one advanced him.  He missed his first attempt (on a bad pass, admittedly) and didn't actually pull off what he was trying to do.

Had he actually done the no-look thing I'd feel differently about it, but as is it was pretty mid.

Ha yeah same here. Hopefully he's got some better stuff for the final round. Both of those were pretty mid, especially the fact that he didn't even actually do the Dee Brown no-look move.

It was pretty predictable that Jaylen was going to make the final round as they want more stars to participate. I don’t think Jacquez or Toppin definitely deserved it over Brown, so it shouldn’t be too controversial.

That being said, McClung is going to crush Jaylen in the final. He’s not great at basketball, but he’s elite at dunking.

Eh.  I appreciate the homage but, again, the dunk was just decent.

Yeesh Jaylen.

It's crazy that something like dunking can be so variable. Jaylen is one of the best when it comes to in-game dunking, and has a poster list that is as long as anyone in the league right now. But he's clearly not a great dunk contest guy.

On the other end. McClung is clearly a better dunk contest guy and more creative, but I don't think he can do anything near what JB does during games.
