Odd…

Surveillance footage recovered so far in the alleged hit-and-run that injured 76ers forward Kelly Oubre Jr. shows no evidence that a crash occurred at the Center City intersection where Oubre reported being hit on Saturday night, police said. “The Police Department currently does not have any video or photographic evidence that depicts this collision,” Sgt. Eric Gripp, a department spokesperson, said Wednesday. “We continue to work in hopes of gathering evidence and we encourage anyone who has information to reach out to our crash investigation unit.”

Two employees of businesses near the reported crash site told The Inquirer they reviewed roughly two hours of footage from that evening on their work surveillance systems and did not see the crash. They asked to remain anonymous due to the high-profile nature of the case. Gripp emphasized that police have not accused Oubre of anything and the investigation is ongoing. But the lack of immediate visual evidence confirming the crash on a well-trafficked downtown street raises questions about the information Oubre provided to police. A source familiar with the situation said that Oubre may not have provided an accurate account of where the crash allegedly occurred. – via Max Marin, Ximena Conde, Keith Pompey @ The Philadelphia Inquirer

Seems like normal behavior.....  ::)

And just like that, the sympathy for Oubre is vanishing

ESPN Sources: Veteran center Daniel Theis has agreed on a contract buyout with the Indiana Pacers and now plans to sign with the Los Angeles Clippers assuming he clears waivers. Clippers recently lost backup C Mason Plumlee to a sprained MCL for several weeks.

Huge bummer. Thought we had a chance with him.

I think Plumlee getting hurt really screwed us, as that opened up alot of playing time for him, which he isn’t going to pass up.

Plumlee was the backup big I wanted us to sign this past offseason.

It just sounds bizarre.  It sounds like medics did treat him.  Did the accident happen somewhere? How does the site get screwed up?

He got hurt doing something stupid or shady and made up the car accident? It went from being hit by a car to being brushed by a car mirror to finding no evidence of it in an area with high surveillance.

Why are we not jumping all over acquiring Daniel Theis, who was just released by Indiana.
Story says Clippers are going to sign him for vet minimum. We need post depth badly and someone who can bang.
Has Theis declined that much since he was with the Celtics ? He was much better than Kornet at that time in his career.

Russell - Cowens - Bird - Garnett

The Four Celtic Lieutenants:
Cousy - Havlicek - McHale - Pierce

If/when he gets bought out, Theis will be an UFA. Can only acquire him if he’s interested in coming here.

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

Watching some of this Lakers-Kings game.  Pretty amusing seeing Lebron completely refuse to fight through a screen.  Not even a token effort, just stops and watches.

No wonder they're average.  Teams follow their leader.

EDIT:  Also been fun watching Sabonis carve AD like a pumpkin.

Also, these things are usually arranged ahead of time behind the scenes. The fact that we're already hearing LAC means the Celtics already either weren't interested or Theis chose LAC over them.

I just wished last year the Kings beat the Warriors so they could've knocked the Lakers out in the second round.

Lakers have really regressed since last year so far. Vincent seems like a terrible signing, for whatever reason reaves seems to have regressed and Davis seems maybe more inconsistent than ever.

Remember back in 2019 when the talk was of trading Tatum for AD? Wonder how many of us would still do that trade today. Probably zero?

No matter whether it’s basketball or Fortnite, it can be pretty tough to admit that someone is better than you at something.

Well, that is unless you’re Boston Celtics second-year forward Jason Tatum and his dad, Justin.

While discussing the potential of trading Tatum for New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis, Tatum’s father had an interesting answer.

“I probably would trade him too, if he wasn’t my son,” he told 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Cedric Maxwell.

[dang], talk about brutal honesty. Jason Tatum joined the show later and when Maxwell recounted what his father had said about trading him, Tatum wasn’t surprised.

“Yeah, I’d trade me too for Anthony Davis,” Tatum said, causing the radio hosts to burst out in laughter.

It looks like both Tatum and his father know his worth, and according to them, Davis is worth a fair bit more.

That’s not to say Tatum won’t be a star in the league – at only 20 years old he is an established scorer and a decent defender.

He manages to average 16.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals a game while shooting 44.4 percent from the field in a Boston team where his role is restricted behind Marcus Morris and Gordon Hayward.

Davis is one of the most coveted players in the NBA and seeing that he is averaging 28.7 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.6 blocks and 1.8 steals per game, it’s easy to see why.

Things could get very interesting if the trade became a reality. If Tatum was to join New Orleans, he could easily turn into a 20-point plus per game scorer.
