Lakers have really regressed since last year so far. Vincent seems like a terrible signing, for whatever reason reaves seems to have regressed and Davis seems maybe more inconsistent than ever.

Remember back in 2019 when the talk was of trading Tatum for AD? Wonder how many of us would still do that trade today. Probably zero?

No matter whether it’s basketball or Fortnite, it can be pretty tough to admit that someone is better than you at something.

Well, that is unless you’re Boston Celtics second-year forward Jason Tatum and his dad, Justin.

While discussing the potential of trading Tatum for New Orleans Pelicans star Anthony Davis, Tatum’s father had an interesting answer.

“I probably would trade him too, if he wasn’t my son,” he told 98.5 The Sports Hub’s Cedric Maxwell.

[dang], talk about brutal honesty. Jason Tatum joined the show later and when Maxwell recounted what his father had said about trading him, Tatum wasn’t surprised.

“Yeah, I’d trade me too for Anthony Davis,” Tatum said, causing the radio hosts to burst out in laughter.

It looks like both Tatum and his father know his worth, and according to them, Davis is worth a fair bit more.

That’s not to say Tatum won’t be a star in the league – at only 20 years old he is an established scorer and a decent defender.

He manages to average 16.1 points, 6.4 rebounds and 1.1 steals a game while shooting 44.4 percent from the field in a Boston team where his role is restricted behind Marcus Morris and Gordon Hayward.

Davis is one of the most coveted players in the NBA and seeing that he is averaging 28.7 points, 13.3 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 2.6 blocks and 1.8 steals per game, it’s easy to see why.

Things could get very interesting if the trade became a reality. If Tatum was to join New Orleans, he could easily turn into a 20-point plus per game scorer.

So glad Danny didn't pull the trigger  :police:

Looks like Draymond Green getting 5 game suspension from the league. Pretty less given his history...should be 10-12 at least.

I don't understand how a player as skilled, versatile and as athletic as Anthony Davis can ever only score 9pts in a game. It makes no sense me. He is too talented for that.

Yet it happens time and time again.

Devin Booker started at SF with Grayson Allen and Eric Gordon starting in the backcourt last night. I wonder if that is a sign to come when Beal plays with Durant & Booker.

I thought they'd go big with Beal and Booker at guard. A defensive wing at SF alongside Durant at PF.

Lot of offense in that smaller lineup. Not much defense. I think they could do with another defender in there. Someone big enough to help on the boards.

He's looking less like a superstar these days and more like a "solid all-star." After a while you are who you are. I have to think he's aging prematurely due to all the injuries.

It's not like he couldn't get a lot of shots if he wanted to on such a thin roster.

And he's signed at $61m per year thru 2028!!!! Things could get real ugly for him by then.

The Lakers are in real trouble.

As long as lakers keep losing, I’m happy
C/PF-Horford, Baynes, Noel, Theis, Morris,
SF/SG- Tatum, Brown, Hayward, Smart, Semi, Clark
PG- Irving, Rozier, Larkin

I agree with everything you said. I will say, every time I think the Lakers are in trouble for the long term, they pull off some FA or lopsided trade to stay relevant.

Wouldn’t be surprise to see Lakers-Bulls pull off a major deal at deadline especially if bulls are bout out of it… Lavine or Demar going

Joel Embiid says Boston is the best team in the league

Clutch Points: “Tough. Especially playing Indiana twice and then on the back-to-back playing the best team in the league… No excuses. We still have to be better, and I have to be better.” Joel Embiid calls the Celtics the best team in the league 🧐 (via @NBCSCeltics) pic.twitter.com/SmtvbxMJbL – via Twitter ClutchPointsApp

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

So just putting some numbers out there for discussion:

Celtics      +13.4 per game, 9 wins  (5 home games)
Nuggets     +8.2 per game, 9 wins  (7 home games)
Sixers        +7.7 per game, 8 wins  (8 home games)
Wolves       +6.6 per game, 8 wins  (5 home games)

All 4 have played 11 total games but the number of home games varies.  Accepting that overall point differential is a good indication of team performance or ability, these are the top 4 teams so far.  The Celtics and Nuggets as 1 and 2 is no surprise but I actually see the Wolves as better than the Sixers and maybe going to end up being the 2nd best team in the west.  PHX may have something to say about that once they settle in of course.

I feel like winning by 50 in an 11 game sample size inflates us a bit. I am super excited about our performance so far, just pointing out that Indy game haha.

Sure, but even if you drop it out completely we still have a +9.6 point differential over the other 10 games, and that is still #1.

Yes, the sample size is a bit small but not entirely unrepresentative.  All the teams probably have an oddball game or two.  Agree we are probably not that much better than the other teams in reality, but I think we have been the best team so far.  And don't under sell the impact of home games.  Even the best teams play better at home.
