Well, with Indy looking like they're on a mission today and not going to be beat by the Hawks, we need to root for a Magic loss. If Indy wins and Magic lose, then no matter what else happens it'll put Philly at 6 and on the opposite side of the bracket of us, and set them up for a second round matchup with the Bucks.

It'd also set up Miami vs Orlando in the play-in, with hopefully Miami winning and drawing the Bucks in the first round. That's probably best case scenario for us right now with it looking unlikely that we'll see Philly and Milwaukee matchup in the first round.

TP. I literally have the same thoughts  ;D

Unfortunately, Milwaukee may not cooperate for this to happen, though.

At half:

Orlando up on Milwaukee 47 - 42

Cleveland up on Charlotte 58 - 57

Indy up on Atlanta 86 (!) - 72

NYK up on Chicago 50 - 47

Philly up on Brooklyn 55 - 44

This is going to be a crazy finish. So many possibilities still with a single half of regularly season basketball to play! I've got so much yard work I need to be doing right now on this nice day, but I don't want to leave the couch haha

Bucks down 5 at halftime. Not ideal. As of now, NYK would be the 2 seed while the 7-8 game is PHI-MIA and MIL falls to either 3 or 4, since Cleveland is also in a close one

Luckily, even if that happens Milwaukee could very well end up facing an Indy team that they've struggled with all year long, which would be even harder for them without Giannis.

And in that scenario, hopefully Philly would still beat Miami at home in the play-in to face NYK in the second round.

Only if Cleveland loses. Otherwise the Bucks draw Magic first round. I'd be surprised if the Hornets actually won. But honestly, it'd be a lot easier if MIL just came back in the 2nd half and won lol

Milwaukee is going to screw around, lose this, and with the other results fall to fourth and our side of the bracket  ::)

On the flip side, the Magic are clearly overwhelming them with athleticism and youth. Who knows, if Giannis isn't 100% maybe the Magic actually give them a series too?

Having your best player not play is screwing around? I told you they would be underdogs here.

Eh, just don't think they have enough offense to win a series, though a Giannis-less Bucks who have been lackluster all year would be the team for them to do it against.

  • GOT IT!!!
Bucks are not a contender. A gimpy Giannis with the potential of further damage is not something you should be wanting to mess around with.

Yeah probably not. I'd pick MIL in 5 still

Oh wow, Knicks are currently down 5 now. That would mean CLE is the 2 seed if scores hold

That'd be another ideal option, as a threeway tiebreaker goes Cavs, Bucks, and then Knicks, which would likely mean matchups of Cavs/Sixers, Bucks/Pacers, and Knicks/Magic. I could deal with that, and I could see the Pacers knocking off the Bucks in the first round with no Giannis.

Yep. I wonder if the Knicks saw the Bucks losing and thought "hell no, time to tank this"

No one wants to play Sixers first round. I'm pretty much resorted to the fact we're drawing Miami.
