Giannis finishes the year averaging 30.4 ppg and 31.2 pts/36 min — his SIXTH straight year averaging >30 pts/36. No one else has done that more than 4x (some guy named Jordan). Wilt only did it 2x. KD/LeBron never did it. Giannis = one of the most dominant scorers in history.

Crazier still - he's probably available this off-season.

I hate stats like that since Giannis doesn't play a lot of minutes it benefits him in that.

Edit: I mean has has only averaged 30 ppg twice, but they give him credit for 6 by giving him the benefit of unplayed minutes.  Giannis is obviously a great scorer, but seemingly to imply he is better than Wilt is a problem in my view.

The doomsday scenario seems to be MIL falling to 4, and the C's likely having to play MIA/PHI first round, then MIL 2nd round, then probably a NY/CLE team with serious momentum in the ECF. Gauntlet.

I still like us in any and all series going forward, but no doubt the path could be hard and that's something that could trip us up if we're going through a gauntlet with some long, drawn out series and even Game 7s (hope not though)

Agreed. This is a textbook example of the ways in which per36 can make decent players look good, good players look great, and great players look absolutely legendary.

I mean they are fine for comparisons for similarly situated players, I just think using them like they did here is a stretch.

Massive day today. I do like that all the games are in the afternoon today. At least by this evening we'll have a clear idea as to the play-in matchups and seedings.

I think the Bucks kind of hold a lot of the cards. They win it will really change the lower seed.

If they lose it, they could fall to 4. Depends how they feel. But they'd be surrendering HCA for multiple rounds and probably still have a really tough path after the first round. Remember, PHI/MIA could still finish the day at the 5 seed, but then it's likely Boston then probably 1 of PHI/MIA anyways in ECF without HCA due to the whole bracket.

It's kind of like the final week of NFL where a lot of the games are the same times and sometimes "flexed" so that teams don't know how the others do when it comes to a postseason race or clinching ramifications.

Seems the Knicks are now the new flavor of the month in the east

Interesting. Embiid was a very late scratch for today's game, which is a major one for them to try and avoid the play-in. Certainly not something you like to see after the issue with him leaving the game and being a bit gimpy the rest of the game on Friday.

The 2-8 seeds in the East are very wild. If you're a Celtics fan, glad your team took care of business the first 82 games.

But now you worry whether you have to play the 76ers in round 1, or potentially playing both 76ers and Bucks in the playoffs. Seems like Embiid is out so 76ers may tank to play Boston as their favorable matchup? Embiid didn't seem hurt the other night with 32/13.

I saw a youtube video mention there are 125 international players in the NBA this season. So out of 450 players. So about 28% of the league now is international.

ESPN has 4 internationals in their top 6 picks in their mock draft for this summer.

What are you even talking about, man? Nobody is "tanking" for the Celtics instead of trying to get one of Milwaukee, New York, Cleveland, etc. In fact, it's the exact opposite lol

Well, with Indy looking like they're on a mission today and not going to be beat by the Hawks, we need to root for a Magic loss. If Indy wins and Magic lose, then no matter what else happens it'll put Philly at 6 and on the opposite side of the bracket of us, and set them up for a second round matchup with the Bucks.

It'd also set up Miami vs Orlando in the play-in, with hopefully Miami winning and drawing the Bucks in the first round. That's probably best case scenario for us right now with it looking unlikely that we'll see Philly and Milwaukee matchup in the first round.
