I really don't miss Brogdon or Grant.

I still have a soft spot for Grant, even though I think he's a very replaceable player.

Brogdon I soured on in the playoffs.  Wasn't crazy about him chirping about the team's defense when he was consistently the biggest defensive liability on the court.  I can't blame him for having some feelings about us trying to trade him but I'm very happy that Jrue is a Celtic now.  So good luck in Portland.

Pretty much how I feel about Brogdon, too.

Also feels like he never fully bought into the sixth man role. He played nice with it, but you consistently see hints of his dissatisfaction with that role when he talks about Boston.

Also, I think the fact that he chose us over Toronto left a sour taste in his mouth that we traded him. But, hey, he wasn’t reliable in the playoffs due to injury and was a big reason we lost to Miami, so we had to do what was best for us.

Malcolm Brogdon on Boston: 'I didn’t feel very valued there'

Wait … he didn’t feel valued in Boston, where he won the Sixth Man Award? “At times. At times,’’ Brogdon said. “I was there for a year, won Sixth Man of the Year, and they shipped me out. So like … I didn’t feel very valued there. Here, I feel valued. Portland has embraced me. And I’ve enjoyed being coached by Chauncey (Billups).’’ – via The Athletic

At some point you have to blame the performance on the court on the players on the court. Every loss is not the coach's fault and every win isn't because of the players.

I think that is fair.  They tried to trade him for Porzingis and then had to try again and trade him for Holiday.  If the Celitcs valued him more, they would not have traded him. I am sure that if the conversation was allowed to continue, that he would have said that he understands it is a business but it is just how he feels.  He feels more valued in Portland.

We will see how much Portland values him at the trade deadline when he is likely shipped out again, but for now, I think he is just being honest and I have no problem with him feeling that way.

Maybe there will be some intrigue this year if people think Bronny James will get picked in second round and determine where Lebron goes, but a normal year it is really hard to imagine anyone watching this. If it has terrible ratings, which I predict it will, the NBA will scrap it cause this is clearly just to make money. To their credit at least the nba scrapped all the gimmicks of the all star game when the fans (mostly) disliked it and nobody watched the captains selections.

Basically made this for Bronny James aka LeCommissioner.

Fair. I'd feel the same too if they tried shopping me like that. But all part of the business. I like how he took an indirect slight at Joe, stating he enjoyed being coached by Billups.

But he's a journeyman, he'll very likely be moved away from Portland.

He lasted one season in Boston.  If he lasts less than a season in Portland, will he change his tune?  Will the Blazers no longer have valued him?

I don't think this is about ratings, I think its about process. People in NBA front offices have evidently complained that the second round was too chaotic. Not enough time between picks to make deals, figure out where trades have landed people, ect. It makes more sense to just blow things down a bit.

Wasn’t he hurt in Portland within a few games too? Timelord as well ,And Smart all hurt early  ….. the Jays health seem much better this year . Because we have White and Jrue that can be relied on to STAY on the court.  The only way Brogdon stayed on the court as much as he did was not start.

Unfortunately, Brogdon just got hurt in the playoffs and his defense also regressed. He was a great 6th man for us, but evidently things just got a little sour late in the year. Then of course with all the Porzingis rumors, it just made it awkward and a trade was necessary. Don't have any ill-will towards him. White has stepped up and even Pritchard has proven to be a solid 3rd PG.

Brogdon showed signs of dissatisfaction with the team during the playoffs last season, often questioning our strategy. This from a guy who was a black hole on offense and was disappointing on the defensive end. I'm sure his issues with the team/coaching staff was not the only reason to move him, but the players who questioned the coaching decisions often during last season all got moved in the offseason. The results so far with this new roster speak for themselves.
