Speaking of the Knicks - that OG Anunoby trade has really worked out well for them, hasn't it?

They are 9-1 in the last 10 games, not bad.  Anunoby didn't even play last night (elbow).  Achiuwa stepped in for 40 min and gave them 18 points.  The defense must have been good also as the Utah bigs didn't score much.

I would have liked to get Achiuwa from TOR.  He seemed within reach.

Sixers in a freefall. Embiid's knee looks more serious than they have said.

They showed him walking into the arena as part of the TNT pregame last night.  He looked gimpy to me.  Hard to imagine he is going to hold up for a playoff run.

He has never held up for a playoff run, which is as much of a shame as it has to be expected at this point in his career.

I agree that this is partly a shame.  He is a rare NBA talent, his body just does not have enough durability or resiliency to hold up to the rigor of playing in the NBA.  Bill Walton had the same issue, and the same level of elite talent.  I am sure you could think of a few others.  But very few have had the same level of "when healthy" ability as Embiid.

Turning 30 in a month & a half.  Can't imagine the durability questions are going to subside.

I was kind of wondering if he had played partially to remain eligible for the mvp. I think he can only miss a few more games this season now

Our good friend Malcolm Brogdan had some things to say...Said he wasn't valued in Boston and that was before the trade. My guess is Brogdan never got over having to come off the bench.

And trading him was the right thing to do. He has been hurt again this season. I think the Cs had a pretty tough lockerroom between Brogdan and Smart land Grant last season.

I think he wasn't Joe's biggest fan.  He openly talked about the lack of commitment to defense during the playoffs.  Then, Joe made the announcement that White was going to be a starter, which Brogdon presumably interpreted as that he would be coming off the bench this season, too.   Then, with the near-trade, and the lack of mending fences, it really left a bitter taste in his mouth.

Sixers ought to sit him at least 3 weeks to get that knee fully healthy unless there’s something wrong with it

I don't miss them either. As well as Smart. All addition by subtraction. And I agree with Roy's take on Malcolm and Joe. I don't think that was going to work this season and Brad knew it.

I liked Brogdon a lot, but it was predictable when he got hurt.

Grant wasn't my favorite player.

I think we didi a great job of replacing what we lost, either with the Jrue and KP additions or with guys like Pritchard, White  and Hauser stepping up. If we didn't have Jrue, we'd be missing Smart's defense sometimes. If KP wasn't playing such good D, we'd miss Timelord (I still miss him a bit, though). If Pritchard wasn't providing a spark off the bench, we'd miss Brodgon. And if Hauser wasn't shooting lights out and playing good D, we'd miss Grant.

Brad did a great job of building this roster. I still think we need another big, but I really love the pieces we have. And the fit is perfect.
I'm bitter.
