Yeah... Pats need to land a QB. I think whoever ends up #3 -- Pats or Redskins -- should trade up to #1.
So are you good with the Bears keeping Fields?
I am. I'm a big fan, and thinks he's shown consistent improvement. I do think that Getsy is too conservative of an OC. Fields needs more deep balls.
I think he can be in the same range as Lamar and Hurts. I'd be fine trading down to #3, hopefully picking up Harrison and if not trading back again, and building through the draft. They've got a ton of money in free agency, too.
I've seen some mock drafts which actually have NE trading from #3 to #1 with Chicago.
NE gives up #3, #66, 2025 2nd + 2025 4th
I do also wonder what the Cardinals do. I think they trade Murray + take QB but who knows, maybe they like Murray and want to do a similar plan of getting either MHJ or trading down + taking a tackle.
That would be a home run for Chicago, especially if Fields ends up being better than Caleb Williams. In a way, that would remind me of the Fultz-Tatum trade.
I expect that Caleb Williams will have to run a lot wherever he goes, but boy, I don't envy him getting smushed into the ground in Chicago or NE during the winter.
I don't think there is any way you get the #1 pick without at least 2 1st rounders. Even if the one is #3.
I think that's right. No way Chicago does it for a third rounder and future non-#1s. There's going to be a team willing to give up what the Panthers did last year (D.J. Moore, #9, a 2nd, this year's first rounder, and next year's 2nd). Rumor has it that the Bears could have had another #1, but preferred Moore instead.
My opinion is that the Bears should stay in the top-3 to secure Harrison, a potential All-Pro. But, there are a lot of good players in the top-10 this year, and there's a good chance that they get blown away by another team. I think a "fair" price for the Pats to move up to #1 is #3, #36, and a future #1.
