Saw a report where Blazers don’t want Herro so gotta be a three team deal somehow

Would we be in on acquiring Herro?

For Brogdon? Herro for Brogdon? Do we need more cap filler?

Okay, smaller filler. Close enough. $22mil vs $27mil for Herro. Pritchard will do. Or Kornet. Even better. Kornet and Brogdon for Herro.

Of course, I don't think POR has any more interest in Brogdon than they do Herro so that would probably need to be a 4 team deal at that point.

We could send Brogdon and picks to Miami and the picks go to Portland.

I really hope Portland does not relent on getting the best package.  If they send him to Miami then any high profile player will just pick the team they want to go to when they are unhappy with their current team.  I would be like Tatum signing his extension then 1 year later demanding a trade to the Lakers or he won't play.  Well sit out and don't get paid then.  This is bull Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.e.  I understand it's a business but this trade me to team A only or I won't play is bullEdited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline.e and everyone knows it.  Will Dame really sit and not collect 50m?  I doubt it.  Call the bluff Portland.

Portland says they want a star or budding star. Not sure they are going to get that. They'll want Brown. But unless Scoot was involved which I think it's too late now, no way.

But it just makes me a little worried cause we haven't heard a word on Brown yet, not even they are meeting.

This has been happening for years. Most recent examples: AD, Harden, KD.

Neither Harden or KD made a single team their priority and made it known they’d only play for them, and they still returned significant hails from the reviving teams.

As for AD, he did seemingly demand LAL, but they also had a ton to give up for him, including great picks and young prospects that turned into stars.

Miami has none of that. This is a completely different and more extreme situation where a major star is demanding to be traded to a single team that has no realistic shot of putting a reasonable offer for him.

Durant and his business manager, Rich Kleiman, told Tsai and Marks that their preference was a deal to Phoenix, sources said. Ishbia knew of Durant's desire to join his franchise and set out to acquire the superstar in his first official week overseeing the organization.

James Harden reportedly is trying to force his way out from Houston, with the Brooklyn Nets as Harden's destination of choice. The Rockets insisted that they would be fine with keeping Harden despite the trade requests.

Is there such a thing as a double sign and trade?  Sign and trade Grant Williams for a signed and traded Matisse Thybulle?

Then once completed:   Brown, Pritchard and Kornet for Scoot and Jerami Grant.

The only issue would be if Jerami Grant demands to start then Robert Williams has to come off the bench.

Scoot, Brogdon, Davison
White, Thybulle
Tatum, Brissett, Walsh, Hauser
J. Grant, Horford, (tatum)
Porzingis, R. Williams

Again, “preference”. They never were explicit or demanding a trade to a SINGLE place like Dame is. There were reports of multiple suitors and places they were each open to go, with a preferred destination amongst them. But not demanding a single destination.

And, again, the other difference is that all of those places also still had a ton to offer for the trading team. Miami has zilch for high quality assets.

Completely different situation.

Dame is literally doing the same thing. Those guys all went to their #1 choice. Must be a coincidence.  Bottom line, the star players get to the team they want to go to 9/10 times. Also, who/what were the high quality assets/players Houston got for Harden?

Idk the wording just sounds like semantics to me. It seems like the difference between good and bad PR. I do agree with the difference that Miami doesn't seem to have anything that Portland wants, compared to how Phoenix still had a good package for Durant.

I believe Jerami Grant cannot be traded until January due to him resigning via bird rights on with a 20%+ raise on a team over the cap. He made $21m  last year and is set to make $27m next year, the first of his new deal. So that figure is greater than the 20% threshold. Unless they changed the rules. Anyone know if that has changed?

Sounds like Riley wins again. As if they weren’t going to get him.
Wonder which 3rd team is sending firsts, has to be Nets? Only in this players league, could Herro get you Lillard.

All me crazy,  but does Herro even have positive value? Strus, Martin, and Vincent looked pretty darn good taking his minutes for far less money.

If Herro was a free agent,  would he get more than $20m?
